Pikachu’s Indonesia Journey Medan

Pikachu in Batik Arrives in Medan – Pokémon GO Event You Don’t Want to Miss!

Get ready, Trainers! Pikachu’s Indonesia Journey is heading to Medan, bringing with it a wave of fun, community spirit, and exclusive in-game events.

Following successful stops in Bali, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, and Jakarta, this beloved Pokémon GO event will take place at DeliPark Mall Medan from April 25 to 27, 2025. From 10 AM to 10 PM each day, the event promises a mix of exciting activities for Trainers of all ages – and best of all, it’s completely free!

A Growing Community of Pokémon GO Enthusiasts

Indonesia has become one of the key markets for Pokémon GO, with over 40 active communities nationwide. Medan, in particular, stands out as a growing hub for Trainers, with more than 1,141 active players eager to participate in this year’s event.

According to Refael Siregar, APAC Lead of Emerging Market at Niantic, Inc., the overwhelming enthusiasm seen during last year’s Pokémon GO tour inspired them to expand the event to even more cities in 2025.

“We’ve seen incredible passion from Trainers in every city we’ve visited. The community in Indonesia is vibrant and full of energy. This year, we want to reach even more Trainers and celebrate together,” said Refael.

Meet Pikachu in Traditional Batik

One of the event’s biggest highlights is Pikachu sporting a traditional Indonesian batik shirt – a special edition look that symbolizes the fusion of local culture and Pokémon fun. This limited-time Batik Pikachu will be available for players to catch during the event, making it a must-have addition for collectors.

But that’s not all. Trainers can look forward to a Meet & Greet session with Pikachu, enjoy the Pikachu Parade & Dance Show, and participate in exclusive in-game activities such as Timed Research and the Collection Challenge.

Pokémon GO events are designed to be inclusive and family-friendly, and Medan is no exception. At DeliPark Mall, visitors can explore the Kids Carnival, browse through the official Pokémon Merchandise Booth, and even join a Pokémon TCG Tutorial Class to learn how to play the beloved trading card game.

To keep devices running throughout the day, a Pokémon GO Powerbank Station will be available so Trainers can recharge and continue exploring without interruption.

All these experiences are offered free of charge, with no tickets or registration required. Just show up, dive into the action, and make unforgettable memories.

Medan is just one stop on Pikachu’s exciting journey across Indonesia. After Medan, the event will travel to other major cities including Bekasi, Bandung, Semarang, and Palembang.

Each stop offers fans a unique chance to meet Pikachu in batik and take part in immersive Pokémon GO activities – a rare opportunity that only comes once a year.

Last year’s tour attracted more than 30,000 attendees across three cities. In Bali alone, the event surpassed ticket expectations by 130% and contributed over USD 13.6 million (approx. IDR 212 billion) to the local economy.

These numbers are a testament to the massive impact and popularity of Pokémon GO in Indonesia.

Community Pokemon Go Indonesia

Pikachu’s Indonesia Journey is more than a mobile game event – it’s a cultural celebration, a community-building initiative, and a showcase of how augmented reality can bring people together.

By organizing in-person experiences, Niantic helps Trainers connect beyond the app, build friendships, and foster a sense of belonging.

As part of its 2025 mission, Niantic is committed to creating inclusive and joyful experiences for all players, regardless of location. “This series of events is our way of giving back to the community. We want to be present, to engage, and to celebrate alongside the Trainers wherever they are,” Refael added.
