Samaiden Secures RM45.0 Million EPCC Contract for 9.99MWac Solar Plant in Kedah

Samaiden Group Berhad (“Samaiden”), a renewable energy specialist principally involved in developing and engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of RE systems and power plants, is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Samaiden Sdn. Bhd. (“SSB”), has accepted a Letter of Award (“LOA”) from PAXS Renewables Sdn. Bhd. (“PAXS”) to undertake the EPCC works for a 9.99MWac large scale solar photovoltaic (“LSSPV”) power plant in Padang Cina, Kulim, Kedah.

Valued at RM45.0 million, the contract encompasses the complete scope of design, engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning of the LSSPV facility. The project, which was approved by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (“ST”) in December 2024 under the Large Scale Solar 5 (“LSS5”) programme, reflects Samaiden’s growing presence in Malaysia’s utility-scale solar segment.

The works will commence with immediate effect from the LOA signing date of 19 May 2025, with the on-site commencement subject to the issuance of a formal notice to proceed upon the fulfilment of all contractual conditions precedent. The project is scheduled to achieve its Commercial Operation Date (COD) by 12 July 2027.

PAXS, the awarding party, is a Malaysian company primarily engaged in the installation of solar energy systems and the operation of electricity generation facilities. Its collaboration with Samaiden reflects confidence in the Group’s proven track record and technical capabilities in delivering end-to-end RE infrastructure solutions.
