UK–Malaysia Creative Alliance: A New Era of Collaboration

In conjunction with the launch of CUT!, Ampersand Advisory has partnered with UK-based independent film enterprise Turnover XXV to establish the Independent Film Production Partnership (IPP).

This collaboration aims to develop original films, offer co-production opportunities, and provide a sustainable platform for Southeast Asian creatives to access international industry pathways.

We’re here to tell stories that matter—stories that come from real places, people, and purpose,” said Craig Conway, co-founder of Turnover XXV. “This partnership places the North East of England in meaningful conversation with Southeast Asia. It’s about sharing stories, nurturing talent, and ensuring the next wave of filmmakers has the support they need to break through.”

The first feature film under the IPP banner is already in development, signaling a promising start to this cross-cultural collaboration.

Horror is not only one of the most expressive genres but also one of the most profitable globally. It resonates deeply with audiences, reflecting cultural fears and folklore while transcending language and geography. “A good scare, like a good story, connects us all,” noted Sandeep Joseph.

In Southeast Asia, with a population of over 600 million, horror enjoys immense popularity, presenting significant business potential for producers and film financiers.

Submissions for CUT! are now open and will close on 19th September 2025. Interested filmmakers can submit their entries through the official website: www.ampersand-advisory.com/cut
