The nation’s favourite superhero is finally making his big-screen debut, and Malaysians are buzzing with excitement. Keluang Man, the iconic animated hero from the 1990s, is back — and this time in live-action.
Slated for release on 29 May 2025, the Keluang Man movie is more than just another film; it’s a celebration of Malaysian identity, creativity, and childhood nostalgi.

Keluang Man A Hero from the Past Returns for the Future
Keluang Man isn’t your typical superhero. Known for his eccentric humour, cheeky personality, and unmistakable Malaysian flair, the character of Borhan — a psychiatric patient turned masked vigilante — captivated an entire generation of fans.
In this new 132-minute action-comedy adventure, we see Borhan’s journey reimagined for modern audiences, blending high-octane action, emotional depth, and sharp Malaysian wit.
This cinematic version is not a remake but a fresh take on the original concept.
Directed by Anwari Ashraf, the mind behind Polis Evo, Projek: High Council, and Anchor SPM, the film brings a postmodern twist — referencing and honouring the original series while crafting a narrative for both old fans and new viewers.
According to Astro Shaw’s Executive Producer Raja Jastina Raja Arshad, this film marks “Malaysia’s first postmodern movie,” created entirely by local talent, with over 1,000 Malaysian creatives involved in production, VFX, and music.
The Power of Pop Culture and Partnership

The film boasts an all-star cast featuring Nas Muammar Zar as Keluang Man, alongside Dato’ Remy Ishak, Datuk Rosyam Nor, Amelia Henderson, Shweta Sekhon, and many more.
Even beloved personalities from the original Senario days, like Wahid and Azlee, make appearances, making this a true multigenerational event.
The story follows Borhan as he confronts a traumatic past, unaware that his journey of vengeance and redemption will transform him into a national icon.
Audiences can expect intense action, laugh-out-loud moments, and even a touch of 2000s nostalgia with a revamped theme song by Krisya and S.O.G, along with throwback hits like “Tragedi Oktober” and “Sha Na Na.”
