Industrialised building systems specialist, Sarawak Consolidated Industries Berhad (“SCIB” or the “Company”) wishes to announce a reshuffling of its Board of Directors to reinforce corporate governance, enhance leadership depth, and support the Company’s strategic growth initiatives.
The Company confirms the resignations of the Independent Non-Executive Chairman, YBhg. Dato’ Sri Zaini Bin Jass, and Independent Non-Executive Directors Mr. Kang Wei Luen, Mr. Ooi Hoot Kuang, and Mr. Ng Cheng Shin. SCIB expresses its sincere gratitude to these directors for their valuable contributions and dedicated service during their tenure.
Datuk Chong Loong Men has been appointed as the new Executive Chairman of SCIB. Datuk Chong brings extensive legal and regulatory experience, having begun his career as a Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Attorney General’s Chambers before transitioning to private practice.
He co-founded prominent legal firms and has served on the boards of several public-listed companies, bringing valuable insights into corporate governance and regulatory matters.
Joining Datuk Chong on the Board is Ms. Tan Li Peng, appointed as Independent Non-Executive Director. Ms. Tan, a seasoned legal practitioner specializing in corporate law, has over 15 years of legal experience and currently serves as a partner at Messrs Loh Poh Seng & Co.
Also appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director is Mr. Leow Wey Seng. Mr. Leow’s professional background includes assurance and advisory services with Deloitte and current leadership roles in corporate advisory and a family-owned business in rubber conveyor belt trading, offering deep insights into corporate strategy and operational management.
