Samaiden Group Berhad (“Samaiden” or “the Company”), a renewable energy (“RE”) specialist principally involved in development and engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (“EPCC”) of RE systems and power plants, is pleased to announce that a consortium comprising its wholly-owned subsidiary,

Samaiden Sdn. Bhd. (“SSB”) and JBB Builders (M) Sdn. Bhd. (“the Consortium”), has received a Letter of Notification (“LON”) by the Energy Commission on 2 September 2025 for the development of a 99.99 Megawatts (“MW”) Large Scale Solar Photovoltaic Plant (“LSS Plant”) in Segamat, Johor.

The achievement highlights Samaiden’s unwavering commitment to driving the advancement of Malaysia’s RE sector and contributing to the nation’s energy transition goals.

The LON was issued on 2 September 2025, formally acknowledging the Consortium as a shortlisted bidder for the project under the Large-Scale Solar PETRA 5+ programme.

The Consortium was selected under Package 3 (30 MW to 500 MW category) based on its competitive bid and fulfilment of the Request for Proposal criteria. The project further strengthens Samaiden’s standing as a reliable provider of large-scale RE solutions.

The LSS Plant, which will have a maximum export capacity of 99.99 MW, is set to contribute significantly to Malaysia’s RE capacity. The project will operate under a 21-year Solar Purchase Agreement between Samaiden and Tenaga Nasional Berhad, ensuring a stable and long-term revenue stream.

The plant is scheduled to achieve its Commercial Operation Date by 31 October 2027, marking the date when it will begin supplying electricity to the national power grid.

Group Managing Director of Samaiden, Datuk Ir. Chow Pui Hee commented,

“Being selected for this large-scale solar project is a significant milestone that reflects the market’s confidence in Samaiden’s capabilities and our continued commitment to supporting Malaysia’s renewable energy ambitions. We are proud to play an active role in accelerating the nation’s energy transition and delivering sustainable value for the long term.”

This announcement reinforces Samaiden’s position as a leading force in the RE sector, demonstrating its proven capability to secure and deliver high-impact projects that contribute meaningfully to both national and global sustainability objectives.

The project marks another strategic milestone in Samaiden’s ongoing efforts to solidify its role as a key contributor to Malaysia’s renewable energy landscape.
