Rangga & Cinta Malaysia

Two decades after Ada Apa Dengan Cinta? (AADC) captured the hearts of millions across Southeast Asia, the legendary romance returns with a new chapter — Rangga & Cinta, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Riri Riza.

This modern reimagining of the beloved love story blends nostalgia with a refreshing Gen Z twist, inviting audiences to rediscover the timeless beauty of first love when it premieres in Malaysian cinemas on 6 November 2025.

Produced by Miles Films, alongside renowned producer Mira Lesmana, and co-produced by Nicholas Saputra and Toto Prasetyanto, Rangga & Cinta is distributed in Malaysia by Primeworks Studios as the official theatrical and marketing partner.

The film stars rising talents Leya Princy, El Putra Sarira, Jasmine Nadya, Kyandra Sembel, Katyana Mawira, Daniella Tumiwa, Rafi Sudirman, and Rafly Altama, who breathe new life into this iconic story.

When Literature Unites Two Worlds

At the heart of the story is Cinta (played by Leya Princy), a 17-year-old student admired for her intelligence, charm, and leadership among her close-knit friends Alya, Maura, Milly, and Karmen, who together run their school magazine club.

Her life seems perfect — until she crosses paths with Rangga (El Putra Sarira), a mysterious student with an unwavering passion for poetry and literature.

Their worlds collide during the school’s annual poetry competition, where Rangga unexpectedly defeats Cinta. Determined to rise above her defeat,

Cinta decides to interview him for the magazine. But her first meeting with Rangga turns cold, revealing his distant and enigmatic nature. Yet over time, their shared love for literature forms a quiet, unspoken bond — one that challenges Cinta’s loyalty to her friends and her understanding of love.

A Love Story That Feels Real and Relevant

Director Riri Riza describes Rangga & Cinta not just as a teenage love story, but as a reflection of modern youth navigating emotion, identity, and dreams.

“It evokes deep emotions, feels personal, and remains highly relevant for today’s audiences.

Directing this film was one of the most emotional experiences of my career. Every scene, every line of poetry, and every note of music was crafted with heart and collaboration.”

From its storytelling to its cinematography and music, Rangga & Cinta captures the spirit of youthful love — where uncertainty and beauty coexist in equal measure.

A Musical Journey Through Nostalgia and Modern Rhythm

Unlike a simple remake, Rangga & Cinta transforms into a musical interpretation, weaving literature, music, and choreography into its narrative.

Fans of the original AADC will be delighted by the return of Melly Goeslaw and Anto Hoed’s iconic compositions, including Suara Hati Seorang Kekasih, Kubahagia, and Bimbang.

To celebrate a new generation, the film also introduces three new original tracks, including the official theme song Rangga Cinta, performed by Eva Celia and Bilal Indrajaya — a heartfelt duet that symbolizes the fusion of nostalgia and youthful passion.

Samsung x Rangga & Cinta: Love Meets Technology

In a unique cross-media collaboration, Samsung joins hands with Rangga & Cinta through the Galaxy S25 FE, highlighting creativity and self-expression among Gen Z.

This campaign features digital content inspired by the film’s romantic and emotional moments, captured through the lens of the Galaxy S25 FE’s AI-powered professional camera. The collaboration bridges cinema, art, and technology — a fitting tribute to today’s digital storytellers.
