A New Format: The Gauntlet, Group Stage & Last Chance
This year introduces a refreshed PMGC format that intensifies the competition from the very first day. The event begins with The Gauntlet, where 16 PMSL representatives battle for the Top 7 qualifying spots in the Finals.
Teams that fall short will not be eliminated immediately — instead, they move into the Group Stage for another opportunity to advance.
The Group Stage is divided into two segments:
- GREEN Group: 28–30 November 2025
- RED Group: 2–4 December 2025
Here, Gauntlet teams will be joined by top squads from around the world. Only the Top 3 teams from each group will secure a direct spot in the Finals. Meanwhile:
The Bottom 5 teams will be eliminated.
The middle-ranked teams progress to the Last Chance round, where only the Top 2 will survive and enter the Finals.
This structure ensures that every match matters and every mistake carries real consequences — making PMGC 2025 one of the most competitive editions to date.
Malaysia’s Hope: ALLIANCE Returns to the Global Stage
Only eight teams from Southeast Asia secured their spots for PMGC 2025, and Malaysia is proud to be represented by ALLIANCE (formerly CelcomDigi Alliance). This marks their fourth consecutive attendance at PMGC.
Though the team ranked #15 in the 2023 Finals and failed to qualify for the 2024 finals, their return symbolizes resilience and renewed determination.
