Basketball fans and gamers, the wait is officially over. NBA 2K27 is now available, bringing a major collection of gameplay improvements, new modes and community-driven features to the latest entry in the popular NBA video game franchise.
Developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K, NBA 2K27 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch 2. This year’s game promises a deeper experience across the court, The City, MyCAREER, MyTEAM and the front office.

The REC now rotates between five different venues, while Street Kings receives a legendary court. NBA 2K27 also introduces Daily Rivals, where players can compete for daily standings.
Another new addition is Crew HQ, which provides squads with a dedicated space to practise, participate in ranked competition, play private games, progress their Crew and take part in seasonal tournaments.
For newcomers, Casual Corner offers a more beginner-friendly environment to learn the ropes.
MyCAREER Gets a Major Makeover
MyCAREER is another area receiving a substantial upgrade in NBA 2K27.
The new MyCAREER Eras mode allows players to experience the NBA across five legendary eras, offering a new way to build a basketball career while rewriting history.
Players can also experience “Fire & Concrete,” described as the most expansive cinematic MyCAREER story in the series so far. The game also introduces the first co-op MyCAREER experience in franchise history, allowing players to team up with a friend.
This combination should give MyCAREER fans more freedom in deciding how they want to experience their journey to the NBA.
MyNBA Introduces a 100-Year Legacy
For those who prefer running the league instead of controlling a single player, NBA 2K27 brings improvements to MyNBA.
The mode gets a rebuilt core franchise experience featuring community-requested roster tools, improved CBA contract negotiations and a new GM Trust system.
The biggest addition is arguably MyNBA Legacy, a player-locked RPG experience covering an incredible 100-year basketball universe.
It gives franchise players a much longer-term experience and adds another layer of progression beyond simply managing teams and rosters.
More Freedom With MyPLAYER Builder
NBA 2K27 also introduces what Visual Concepts describes as its most versatile MyPLAYER Builder yet.
Players can experiment with new build options supported by Strategic Badge Tokens, reworked Badge Progression and the new Synergy system.
The ability to create female MyPLAYER characters and bring them into the Co-Ed City also significantly expands the possibilities for character creation.
MyTEAM Makes Every Card More Valuable
MyTEAM receives several important changes designed around the idea that every player card should have value.
An expanded Exchange system now accepts any Player Card, excluding Free Agent cards. Meanwhile, the new Player XP system allows every card to level up through gameplay.
The Auction House has also been unified across PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, creating a larger pool of community-listed cards.
Fan-favourite modes including Triple Threat Online and Clutch Time Online also return as part of a rotating selection of limited-time modes.
Nintendo Switch 2 and PC Players Get Extra Features
NBA 2K27 also takes advantage of newer hardware.
On Nintendo Switch 2, players can experience the game at 60 FPS through the new Performance Mode, while Fidelity Mode remains available. The version also includes motion-based mini-games such as a 3PT Contest, Dunk Contest and Pop-a-Shot.
Switch 2 players can additionally take advantage of GameShare and full mouse support.
Meanwhile, PC players with compatible hardware can benefit from NVIDIA DLSS 5. On GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, its 3D-Guided Neural Rendering technology is designed to improve materials, lighting and overall photorealism while maintaining the integrity of athlete scans.
