Borderlands 4 Version 1.10 Update – New Story Content, Playable Vault Hunter and Bounty Pack Expand the Borderlands 4 Experience

Fans of Borderlands 4 have plenty of new content to explore as 2K and Gearbox Software roll out the Version 1.10 update. The major update introduces Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort, the brand-new playable Vault Hunter Loveless the Hacker, and Bounty Pack 5: Amara and the Vile Shadows.

Alongside the new content, the update also raises the game’s maximum level cap by 10 levels, introduces Vault Hunter balance adjustments and makes selected DLC content available for individual purchase.

For players looking for more reasons to return to Kairos, Version 1.10 offers a substantial mix of story missions, bosses, enemies, weapons, cosmetics and new character abilities.

Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort

The biggest addition in the update is Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort, which brings players to the tropical island of Providence.

The story reunites players with the returning beastmaster FL4K as they attempt to rescue FL4K’s loyal skag companion, Mr. Chew. Their mission puts them against the Tediore corporation and five elite managers working under the ruthless Lieutenant Harmony.

Providence offers a brand-new zone filled with missions, collectibles, landmarks and dangerous encounters. Players will need to explore an active volcano bunker, travel through the jungle using newly introduced ziplines and even enter Tediore’s digiverse servers to take on enemies directly at the source.

The new enemies are designed to provide plenty of challenges. These include exo-suit soldiers capable of continuing their attacks even after death, heavily armed mechs with different weapon attachments and minibosses created during dynamic world events involving Ordonite-infused lava.

Those who survive the dangers of Providence can also walk away with plenty of new equipment. Story Pack 2 adds two new Pearlescent weapons and 18 pieces of Legendary gear, giving players additional loot to hunt and builds to experiment with.

Meet Loveless the Hacker

Another major highlight of Version 1.10 is the arrival of Loveless the Hacker, an entirely new playable Vault Hunter.

Once an Anshin hacker, Loveless has evolved into an assassin after achieving a unique fusion between biological and digital power. Her mind is connected to a digital virus of her own creation, which can transform into a physical Wyrm form.

This unusual relationship gives Loveless a distinctive combat style. Her abilities focus heavily on Critical Hits, Status Effects, Corrosive damage and Radiation damage, making her an attractive choice for players who enjoy aggressive and highly mobile character builds.

Loveless is not restricted to the new Story Pack. Players can use her throughout the Borderlands 4 base game as well as its DLC zones.

Her arrival also adds another layer to the game’s character roster, particularly for players interested in experimenting with assassin-focused builds and different approaches to combat.

Amara Returns in Bounty Pack 5

Bounty Pack 5, titled Amara and the Vile Shadows, brings another familiar character into the spotlight.

In this new repeatable mission, Vault Hunters join Amara to investigate mysterious Phase disturbances that could be connected to Vile Lictor’s former laboratory on Elpis. The investigation uncovers dormant Order Synths that previously served Vile Lictor.

Players can expect new Vile enemy types, a new boss and two minibosses. Completing the content can reward players with a new Pearlescent weapon and six pieces of Legendary loot.

The Bounty Pack also introduces several cosmetic and customization rewards, including a Vault Hunter Skin, a Vehicle and an ECHO-4 Drone Skin.

Vault Card 5 Adds More Rewards

Alongside the narrative content, players can access Vault Card 5, which introduces additional space-age themed rewards that can be earned through gameplay.

The new Vault Card includes 24 cosmetic items and four pieces of rerollable gear, providing another reason for players to keep progressing and completing activities.

Unlike the narrative-focused content, the Vault Card is designed around ongoing gameplay and rewards, giving dedicated players more items to collect.

Version 1.10 Raises the Level Cap

The Version 1.10 update also makes several system-level changes to Borderlands 4.

Most notably, the maximum character level has been increased by 10 levels for all players. Vault Hunter balance adjustments have also been introduced, which should help keep character builds and combat options evolving as players progress further.

In addition, selected content from Story Pack 1 and Bounty Pack 2 can now be purchased separately, giving players more flexibility in choosing which additional content they want to experience.

Free-to-Play Weekend Offers a Chance to Try Borderlands 4

For those who have yet to experience Borderlands 4, the update arrives alongside a free-to-play weekend.
