Google Pixel Spotter Challenge Wraps Up with 11 Malaysian Winners
Seven Weeks of Football, Fun and Pixel Prizes
What started with a simple challenge to spot a hidden Google Pixel Plushie quickly turned into seven weeks of friendly competition among Malaysians.
The Google Pixel Spotter Challenge, held as part of the wider Google Pixel Football Campaign, has officially come to an end, with 11 winners emerging across its Game and Referral categories. The lucky winners walked away with prizes including the Google Pixel 10a, Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Buds 2a.
The campaign ran from 15 June to 31 July 2026, combining football-inspired activities with an interactive online game designed to test participants’ speed, accuracy and spotting skills.
Five Levels of Increasing Challenge
At the heart of the campaign was the Pixel Spotter Challenge, where participants had to race against the clock to find hidden Google Pixel Plushies across five increasingly difficult levels.
Every successful spotting contributed to their score, with speed and accuracy playing an important role in determining their position on the nationwide live leaderboard.
The competitive element gave participants plenty of motivation to improve their scores, challenge friends and see how they compared with other players across Malaysia.
However, the challenge was not solely about being the fastest player.
The campaign also introduced a Referral category, giving participants another opportunity to win by encouraging their friends to join the experience.
Sharing the Challenge Leads to a Surprise Win
One of the Referral category winners was Subas Segar, who took home a pair of Google Pixel Buds 2a.
Rather than focusing on securing the highest position on the leaderboard, Subas decided to share the Pixel Spotter Challenge with his friends through his personalised referral link.
As more people joined, the simple online game became a fun social activity where friends could compare their progress, challenge each other and keep an eye on their scores.
For Subas, winning the Pixel Buds 2a was an unexpected bonus.
“I started sharing the Pixel Spotter Challenge with my friends because I thought it would be fun for them to try it too,” he said. “I definitely wasn’t expecting to win anything from it, so finding out that I had won the Pixel Buds 2a was a really nice surprise.”
His experience highlights the more social side of the campaign. While some participants competed to achieve the fastest times, others found their own path to winning by bringing friends into the challenge.
Bringing Football and Google Pixel Together
The Pixel Spotter Challenge formed part of the larger Google Pixel Football Campaign, which ran for seven weeks and brought together football-inspired experiences, interactive activities and exclusive merchandise.
The campaign also extended beyond the online game. Customers who purchased eligible Google Pixel devices from participating Google Pixel retail and telco partners could redeem exclusive football-themed merchandise, while stocks lasted.
One of the campaign’s standout collectibles was the Football Edition Google Pixel Plushie, specially created for the Malaysian campaign.
Limited to just 200 successful redemptions nationwide, the collectible featured the familiar Google Pixel Plushie dressed in a football jersey inspired by Google’s iconic blue, red, yellow and green colour palette.
The limited-edition plushie offered fans another way to experience the campaign beyond the digital challenge, while also giving collectors an exclusive Google Pixel item to take home.
A Fun Finale for Google Pixel Fans
From searching for hidden plushies and competing on the leaderboard to inviting friends and collecting exclusive merchandise, the Google Pixel Football Campaign brought together the excitement of football with the playful personality of Google Pixel.
The Pixel Spotter Challenge may have reached its final whistle, but its 11 winners now have something tangible to remember the experience by.
With prizes ranging from the Google Pixel 10a and Pixel Watch 4 to Pixel Buds 2a, the campaign demonstrated how a simple interactive challenge can turn into a memorable experience when competition, friendship and a little bit of fun come together.
