Anime fans in Malaysia now have another convenient way to enjoy their favourite Japanese animated series, as Crunchyroll expands its availability to PlayStation consoles with a new subscription option through the PlayStation Store.
Announced on 27 October 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, the partnership allows users of the PlayStation 5 (PS5) and PlayStation 4 (PS4) to discover, subscribe to, and watch anime directly through their consoles.
With subscriptions starting from RM12.90 per month, the move brings Crunchyroll’s extensive anime library closer to Malaysian fans, particularly those who prefer watching anime on their television screens.
Subscribe to Crunchyroll Directly Through PlayStation
Through this integration, anime fans can access Crunchyroll via the PlayStation Media Hub on their PS5 or PS4. The service is designed to make discovering and streaming anime more convenient without requiring users to rely solely on other devices.
The Crunchyroll Mega Fan membership is available through the PlayStation Store for RM14.90 per month. This subscription offers several benefits, including ad-free viewing, offline downloads on supported devices, and simultaneous streaming on up to four devices.
Mega Fan members also gain access to Crunchyroll Game Vault, a collection of more than 100 anime-inspired mobile games included with the membership.
For fans looking for a more affordable option, the Crunchyroll Fan membership is available for RM12.90 per month through QR-code sign-up. This plan provides access to Crunchyroll’s anime library on one device.
Both options cater to different viewing preferences, whether users want a simple anime streaming experience or additional features for their household and mobile devices.
Watch Anime Across Multiple Supported Devices
Another advantage of the new integration is that Crunchyroll subscriptions remain linked to subscribers’ Crunchyroll accounts.
This means existing subscribers can access the service on their PlayStation consoles and other supported devices, depending on their membership benefits.
For anime fans who regularly switch between watching on a television, computer, or mobile device, account-based access offers greater flexibility when enjoying their favourite shows.
The availability of Crunchyroll through PlayStation also makes it easier for console owners to explore anime without needing a separate streaming device.
New Anime Titles to Watch This Quarter
Malaysian subscribers can look forward to a selection of anime titles available for streaming this quarter.
Among the highlighted titles is Black Clover Season 2, featuring English subtitles for viewers who prefer watching anime in Japanese with translated dialogue.
Other titles mentioned in the announcement include Overgeared and PSYREN, giving fans more stories to explore through the platform.
With a growing catalogue of new and returning series, Crunchyroll continues to cater to Malaysia’s multilingual anime community by offering different language options across its content.
More Anime Choices for Malaysian Fans
The partnership between Crunchyroll and PlayStation represents another step towards making anime more accessible in Malaysia.
By bringing the streaming service directly to PS5 and PS4, fans can enjoy their favourite series through their existing gaming consoles, whether they are catching up on popular titles or discovering something new.
For Malaysian anime enthusiasts, the addition offers a convenient way to combine gaming and anime entertainment in one place.
With Crunchyroll Mega Fan available for RM14.90 per month through the PlayStation Store, and the Fan plan offered at RM12.90 per month through QR-code sign-up, viewers can choose the subscription that best suits their needs.
Anime fans can now explore Crunchyroll’s library and enjoy a wider selection of Japanese animation through their PlayStation consoles.
