Garena is taking its popular battle royale franchise into the world of anime with Free Fire: Daybreak, an upcoming animated series that will make its highly anticipated world premiere at CCXP26 in São Paulo, Brazil, this December.
The first episode will be screened on December 5, 2026, giving fans an exclusive first look at the anime ahead of its planned global release in Spring 2027. The premiere will also bring together members of the production team and internationally recognised DJ and music producer Alok for a special panel session.
The announcement marks another exciting milestone for the Free Fire franchise as Garena continues to expand its entertainment universe beyond mobile gaming.
Free Fire: Daybreak Makes Its Anime Debut at CCXP26
The world premiere of Free Fire: Daybreak will take place during CCXP26, one of the major pop culture and entertainment events in Brazil.
Running from December 3 to 6, 2026, at São Paulo Expo, the festival will give visitors an opportunity to explore the worlds of Free Fire and its upcoming anime adaptation through a dedicated booth and various interactive activities.
The highlight will be the special screening of the anime’s first episode on December 5. This will be the first opportunity for audiences worldwide to experience the new animated series before its official global debut in Spring 2027.
Following the screening, fans can look forward to a special Free Fire: Daybreak panel featuring members of the anime’s production team, who will share insights into the creative process and development behind the series.
A New Story Featuring Kelly, Hayato and Moco
Produced by Garena in partnership with KADOKAWA CORPORATION and animated by studio Candy Box, Free Fire: Daybreak introduces an original anime storyline featuring familiar characters from the popular mobile game.
The series is directed by Ken Takahashi, with Hotaru Asafuji handling the scripts and Koji Fujimoto composing the music.
The story takes place in a futuristic city called New Dawn, which is controlled by the powerful Horizon Corporation.
It follows three familiar Free Fire characters – Kelly, Hayato and Moco – as they become involved in a new adventure. The story centres on Kelly, who finds herself caught up in a mysterious conspiracy and eventually discovers that she possesses a newfound superpower.
With its futuristic setting, familiar characters and an entirely new storyline, the anime aims to offer Free Fire fans a different way to experience the franchise.
Rather than simply recreating the gameplay experience, Free Fire: Daybreak expands the existing universe through animated storytelling, character development and original music.
Alok Joins the Anime Production Team and Live Performance
One of the biggest attractions at CCXP26 will be the appearance of Alok, the internationally recognised DJ and music producer who has been part of the Free Fire universe since 2019.
Known as one of the game’s most popular characters, Alok will join the Free Fire: Daybreak panel to discuss his special appearance in the anime’s first episode and his contribution to the series’ music.
His involvement brings another exciting connection between gaming, anime and music.
Following the panel session, Alok will also take the stage for a live performance, giving festival visitors an additional reason to look forward to the December 5 programme.
According to Thiago Romariz, Director of Products at CCXP, bringing the anime’s world premiere together with Alok’s participation and live performance creates a unique entertainment experience for the festival audience.
Free Fire Expands Beyond Mobile Gaming
The introduction of Free Fire: Daybreak represents another step in Garena’s efforts to expand Free Fire into different entertainment formats.
Since its launch, Free Fire has built a massive global gaming community through its accessible battle royale gameplay, memorable characters and regular in-game collaborations.
Moving into anime allows the franchise to explore its characters and fictional universe in greater depth while reaching audiences who enjoy animated entertainment.
For existing players, the series offers an opportunity to discover more about familiar characters. Meanwhile, anime enthusiasts may find a new franchise to explore.
With its world premiere scheduled for December 5 at CCXP26, Free Fire: Daybreak is certainly one anime adaptation worth keeping an eye on.
Fans who cannot attend the event in Brazil will have to wait a little longer, as the series is currently scheduled for a global release in Spring 2027.
