Castrol Malaysia Champions Inclusivity and Innovation in Youth Motorsports

Castrol Malaysia has successfully wrapped up another milestone year of youth engagement, proving its ongoing commitment to nurturing the next generation of drivers and motorsports enthusiasts.

The latest phase of its nationwide initiative merged high-octane racing excitement with practical knowledge about the importance of engine oil in ensuring peak vehicle performance and long-term durability.

Unleashed Youth Simracing Championship 2025

At the heart of the initiative was the Unleashed Youth Simracing Championship, organized by Cove Circuit and powered by Castrol. The grand finale, held at Sunway Pyramid on 17 August, brought together over 400 participants from across Malaysia.

Sim racers delivered electrifying performances in both male and female categories, keeping audiences on the edge of their seats.

The Male Division Champion clinched the grand prize of RM6,000, while the Female Division Champion secured RM3,000. Both winners showcased outstanding skill, focus, and determination.

In total, the competition awarded RM30,000 in prizes, with top finishers in both categories sharing the rewards.

A historic moment this year was the introduction of an all-female division, underscoring Castrol’s dedication to inclusivity in motorsports. Out of the total participants, 349 competed in the male division, while 93 women proudly represented the female category, marking a significant step toward growing female representation in simracing.

Celebrity Showdown and Fan Engagement

Fans attending the event were treated to a special celebrity race that featured Malaysian motorsport icon Leona Chin, singer Ismail Izzani, content creator Taufiq Hannafi, and other well-known local personalities.

Their presence added star power to the competition while inspiring youth to pursue their passion for motorsports.

University Roadshows: Blending Education and Excitement

Beyond the simracing stage, Castrol Malaysia extended its outreach through a series of interactive university roadshows. Over 2,000 attendees from five Klang Valley universities, along with participants in Penang and Johor Bahru, had the chance to learn more about engine care and performance.

These roadshows offered hands-on experiences that highlighted how the right engine oil – particularly Castrol EDGE – can enhance power, acceleration, and durability.

Demonstrations showcased how Castrol EDGE delivers up to 30%* improved performance compared to tough industry standards.

Visitors also enjoyed exclusive promotions on Castrol EDGE and Castrol MAGNATEC, with special discounts made available at Penang, Johor Bahru, and the Sunway Pyramid finale.

Castrol at Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur 2025

Adding to the year’s momentum, Castrol drew significant attention at the third edition of Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur (TASKL), held at MITEC. With over 100,000 visitors attending, Castrol’s booth became a highlight of the exhibition.

A standout feature was a live art performance by Malaysian automotive artist Zameer Pentbrush, who painted the legendary Nissan Silvia S14 in a stunning Castrol livery.

The showcase combined speed, creativity, and style, perfectly reflecting Castrol’s brand identity. Visitors also enjoyed interactive activities and giveaways, further cementing the brand’s strong connection with fans.

Reflecting on this year’s achievements, Gan Wee Kiong, Market Sales Director of Castrol Malaysia & Singapore, emphasized the brand’s vision:

“This year’s activation demonstrated our commitment to shaping the future of mobility by championing the next generation of drivers. By combining hands-on engagement with high-performance technology like Castrol EDGE, we hope to inspire emerging drivers to take ownership of their vehicle care while appreciating innovation, responsibility, and performance.”

As Castrol Malaysia moves forward, its focus remains on creating more opportunities for young people to engage with driving, simracing, and motorsports. At the same time, the brand continues to promote the critical role of high-quality engine oils in enhancing performance and extending vehicle life.
