Diablo IV Season 9 Sins of the Horadrim

Diablo IV: Sins of the Horadrim Brings Dark Magic and Escalating Nightmares This July

Diablo IV fans, prepare to walk into the shadows once again as Season 9: Sins of the Horadrim arrives with new quests, fearsome enemies, and a fresh layer of complexity to the game’s already intense endgame.

This season, Blizzard Entertainment invites players to revisit the haunted legacy of the Horadrim, unlocking ancient power while battling nightmares that grow stronger with each step.

A Dark Journey to Cerrigar

Season 9 opens with a new questline that leads players to Cerrigar, where they will meet Bryona, a Druid caught in the wake of a deadly secret.

Bryona faces the consequences of actions taken by the Horadric Mage Donan, and it’s up to you to help defend her home while uncovering the mystery of the Horadric Strongrooms.

As the story unfolds, you’ll explore the moral and magical dilemmas left behind by the Horadrim, a once-noble order whose sins now come back to haunt Sanctuary.

Horadric Spells: Customize Your Magic

For the first time in Diablo IV, players can craft and combine their own Horadric Spells. This spellcrafting system introduces customizable magical abilities, giving you the freedom to build a playstyle tailored to your class and strategy.

Want to unleash fire and poison at the same time? Combine elemental powers to amplify damage, slow enemies, or stack status effects. Horadric Spellcraft offers an exciting new layer of tactical depth.

Nightmare Dungeons Evolve

Nightmare Dungeons are getting a permanent overhaul in Season 9, introducing three major additions:

  • Horadric Strongrooms
These micro-dungeons are hidden within Nightmare Dungeons and offer higher risks and even greater rewards. Expect to face mummified enemies and unique environmental hazards.
  • Escalating Nightmares
This new mode challenges players with a chain of three consecutive Nightmare Dungeons, each tougher than the last. Survive all three and face a final showdown with Exalted Astaroth, a more powerful version of the demon you may already know.
  • New Affixes
Nightmare Dungeons will now include brand-new affixes to keep every run fresh, unpredictable, and deadly.

The Final Battle: Astaroth Returns, But Not Alone

The Season 9 climax centers on a boss fight with Astaroth, now more dangerous than ever. During combat, he will dismount from the Amalgam of Rage, creating two separate enemies you must defeat.

If Astaroth remains standing, his mount will resurrect — forcing players to strategize carefully and balance damage between both threats.

This multi-phase boss encounter will test even the most experienced players, with rich rewards awaiting those who prevail.

In addition to content tied to the seasonal theme, Blizzard is introducing quality-of-life improvements and new content that will remain beyond Season 9, including:

  • Mouse-and-keyboard support for console players
  • New Unique items for every class
  • More powerful loot opportunities across Sanctuary

Season Journey Rewards: Meet Dante the Dog

As always, Season 9 includes a Season Journey, filled with milestones and rewards. Among them is Dante the Dog, a new hellhound pet that accompanies you in battle.

With a bark that echoes the underworld, Dante is more than just a cute companion — he’s a symbol of your journey through the Horadrim’s sins.

Diablo IV: Sins of the Horadrim promises to be one of the game’s darkest and most rewarding seasons yet.

Whether you’re a spellcaster eager to experiment with new builds or a warrior bracing for nightmare-fueled dungeon runs, Season 9 begins July 1, 2025, and it’s not pulling any punches.

The sins of the past are calling — will you answer?
