EPB Group Announces Partnership with Shenzhen Honglin and Nidec

EPB Group Announces Partnership with Shenzhen Honglin

EPB Group Berhad (“EPB”), and its group of companies (“Group”), an established one-stop food processing and packaging machinery solutions provider, is pleased to announce two strategic initiatives that mark a new chapter in its growth journey.

These include the establishment of a partnership with Shenzhen Honglin Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd. (“Shenzhen Honglin”) to drive automation and market expansion across Southeast Asia and a sustainability-focused technology partnership with Nidec Corporation (“Nidec”).

The partnership with Shenzhen Honglin represents a major leap forward in EPB’s regional growth and product innovation strategy. Shenzhen Honglin is a recognised innovator in robotics, semiconductor software, and automated manufacturing technologies.

Under this incorporation, EPB will hold an 80% equity stake, while Mr. Fan Yanlin major shareholder, director and legal representative of Shenzhen Honglin will own the remaining 20%.

The new entity, AI Medic Device Equipment Supplies Sdn. Bhd. (“AI MEDIC”) will serve as a strategic platform for high-tech equipment integration, product diversification, and the localisation of advanced robotic solutions tailored to the region’s evolving food processing needs.

This partnership will serve as a strategic platform for localising high-tech equipment solutions, expanding EPB’s automation capabilities, and diversifying its machinery offerings tailored to the food machinery processing industry.

This includes the integration of robotics and Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) enabled systems that enhance efficiency, hygiene, and production precision, core demands of regional manufacturers seeking to modernise operations.

Meanwhile, the Group has also entered a strategic collaboration with Nidec, a global leader in motor and drive technology, focusing on integrating Variable Frequency Drives (“VFD”) into EPB’s principal machinery offerings.

This initiative is part of EPB’s wider commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) and transformational sustainability. The adoption of VFDs is expected to improve energy efficiency, reduce machine wear, and lower customers’ operational costs, while extending machine life.

Mr. Yeoh Chee Min, Managing Director of EPB Group Berhad, commented,

“These two strategic milestones reflect our Group’s long-term vision to embed sustainability and innovation across all levels of our operations. The partnership with Shenzhen Honglin positions us at the forefront of robotics and automation in the region, while our partnership with Nidec enhances the energy efficiency of our machinery and strengthens our ESG credentials.

With Nidec’s global network, we ensure faster and more reliable maintenance and servicing, giving our customers the added value of peace of mind and uninterrupted performance through their local agents. Together, these initiatives support our aim to elevate Southeast Asia’s food manufacturing industry to global standards through efficiency, precision, and innovation.”

The collaboration with Nidec focuses on integrating the Nidec S100 Series Inverter into the food processing solution machines. EPB expect this enhancement to deliver significant energy savings of between 10% to 30% which will vary from machine to machine, for the customers.

This will have direct impact on the bottom line through reduced energy consumption, lower maintenance costs associated with motor replacements, and extended machine lifespan.

At the same time, the partnership with Shenzhen Honglin marks an important step in advancing the capabilities of the AI and robotic systems—both in hardware and software. This partnership would further strengthen the performance of the existing food processing machinery.

As previously announced, EPB is currently undertaking a major expansion of its production footprint in Penang. The Group has acquired 7.84 acres of land adjacent to its current facility, with plans underway to construct a new factory, showroom, and corporate office.

The new integrated facility will also house the partnership’s advanced manufacturing and R&D functions, supporting EPB’s growing automation portfolio and large-scale, high-volume project deliveries across the region.

These investments are aligned with EPB’s IPO objectives and are aimed at supporting its robotics offerings and growing order book, particularly in large-scale, high-volume project deliveries across ASEAN.

These latest initiatives underscore EPB’s commitment to creating long-term value for stakeholders while advancing sustainable growth, digitalisation, and customer-focused innovation.
