Experience the Vibrant Gemilang Kampong Gelam 2025: A 35-Day Ramadan Extravaganza
Singapore’s historic Kampong Gelam district is set to come alive once again with the return of Gemilang Kampong Gelam 2025, a 35-day celebration that brings together food, culture, and community.
Running from February 19 to March 25, 2025, this highly anticipated event is presented by One Kampong Gelam, with support from the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA).
Following its record-breaking success in 2024, which saw 1.1 million visitors, this year’s edition focuses on heritage, community, and sustainability, offering an array of exciting activities for all ages.
A Grand Kick-Off: Kampong Charity Run 2025
The festivities begin with the inaugural Kampong Charity Run 2025, taking place on February 15.
This 2.5km run aims to promote drug-free awareness in collaboration with Drugfree SG and will feature interactive booths, including one from the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB).
All proceeds will go towards supporting Kampong Glam Community Centre’s beneficiaries, fostering the spirit of giving during Ramadan.
A Month-Long Celebration of Culture and Heritage
Throughout the 35 days, Kampong Gelam will be transformed into a bustling hub filled with immersive experiences:
1. Kampong Gelam Ramadan Bazaar 2025
The highlight of GKG 2025 is its spectacular Ramadan Bazaar, featuring 120 food and retail vendors. Visitors can indulge in a mix of traditional and modern delights, including Lemang, Satay Ummi, and the popular Smashed Burger. For those with a sweet tooth, options like Kunafa and Turkish ice cream will be available.
Shoppers will also enjoy a variety of stalls offering festive cookies, traditional Malay attire, and Muslim home decorations.
2. Interactive Cultural Workshops
