In a bold step that redefines modern air travel, Emirates has announced the deployment of Starlink’s ultra-fast satellite Wi-Fi across its entire in-service fleet.
Beginning with its Boeing 777 aircraft in November 2025, the full rollout—covering 232 Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 aircraft—is expected to be completed by mid-2027.
This milestone positions Emirates as the world’s leading airline in inflight connectivity, delivering unmatched internet performance at cruising altitude.
This initiative will allow passengers to enjoy ground-level internet quality at 40,000 feet, marking a transformative shift in onboard digital experiences.
Whether travelling for business or leisure, customers will now have the freedom to stream movies, join video calls, browse social media, play online games, or work seamlessly throughout their flight.
Starlink: Free, Fast, and Frictionless Wi-Fi for All Emirates Passengers
One of the most significant aspects of this upgrade is that Starlink Wi-Fi will be completely free for all customers, regardless of cabin class. There are no hidden charges, no membership requirements, and no complicated login procedures—just one-click access to high-speed connectivity.
The rollout begins with the Boeing 777 fleet, with the first Starlink-enabled aircraft—A6-EPF—already showcased at the Dubai Airshow. Visitors at the event were able to experience Emirates’ new inflight Wi-Fi capabilities firsthand, setting the stage for the airline’s next-generation passenger experience.
Within days of the airshow, A6-EPF will rejoin commercial service, making it the first Emirates aircraft to offer full Starlink Wi-Fi to passengers.
A Massive Fleet Upgrade: 232 Aircraft to Be Fitted with Starlink
Emirates plans to retrofit its entire operating fleet, averaging 14 aircraft installations per month—a pace unmatched in the aviation industry.
The airline will also debut the world’s first Starlink-equipped A380 in early 2026, cementing its position as the operator of the largest Starlink-enabled A380 fleet. To ensure wide coverage and excellent performance across all cabin classes, Emirates will install:
- Two Starlink antenna systems on every Boeing 777
- Three antenna systems—an industry first—on every Airbus A380
This step guarantees consistent high-speed connectivity even on full-capacity flights.
In addition, Live TV streaming via Starlink will roll out in late December 2025, initially on personal devices before being added to seatback screens.
A Continuous Commitment to Excellence
According to Sir Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline, the Starlink partnership is a vital part of Emirates’ long-standing philosophy of offering customers an elevated, consistent travel experience.
“We’re introducing the world’s fastest Wi-Fi, elevating what passengers can expect from inflight connectivity—like seamless productivity, real-time communication with loved ones, and uninterrupted connection to their digital lives,”.
He also emphasized that connectivity upgrades are just one component of Emirates’ massive cabin refurbishment programme, one of the largest in aviation history. This includes:
- Brand-new Premium Economy cabins
- Enhanced Business Class
- Refreshed First Class Suites
- Upgraded seatback entertainment technology
- Elevated cabin finishes throughout the aircraft
To date, 76 fully refurbished aircraft have already returned to service under this programme.
Starlink on Emirates: A New Era for Inflight Connectivity
Chad Gibbs, Vice President of Starlink Business Operations at SpaceX, highlighted the significance of the partnership:
“With Starlink onboard your Emirates flight, you’ll be able to stream, game, and have seamless video calls, just as you can do on the ground.”
Starlink’s LEO (Low Earth Orbit) satellite system is renowned for its ability to deliver high bandwidth and ultra-low latency consistently—crucial for modern digital experiences, especially in a cabin full of connected devices.
Setting New Standards for Global Aviation
This Starlink rollout is more than just a Wi-Fi upgrade—it represents Emirates’ firm push toward the future of passenger aviation, where travelers can expect:
- Full connectivity across all cabin classes
- Uninterrupted digital convenience
- Access to vast entertainment options, including over 6,500 channels
- Premium dining, hospitality, and cabin comfort
- Industry-leading luxury on the iconic A380, including its Onboard Lounge and First Class Shower Spa
With this investment, Emirates is not only enhancing customer satisfaction but also raising global expectations for what inflight service should be.
As the rollout continues, Emirates is set to offer the most technologically advanced onboard experience in the world, ensuring travellers truly “fly better”—anywhere, anytime.
