Empowering Malaysian SMEs: Lotus’s Launches 8th Buy Malaysian Products Campaign in Setia Alam

Lotus’s Launches 8th Buy Malaysian Products Campaign

Lotus’s Stores (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Lotus’s Malaysia) continues its commitment to empower local entrepreneurs with the launch of the 8th Buy Malaysian Products Campaign (BMC), held in collaboration with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (MDT COL) at Lotus’s Setia Alam.

This annual campaign serves as a powerful platform for Malaysian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to promote their products to a wider market.

Through product showcases, live cooking demonstrations, food samplings, and exclusive in-store promotions, consumers are encouraged to explore and purchase high-quality Made-in-Malaysia goods — all at affordable prices.

Driving Economic Growth Through Local Empowerment

The campaign was officially launched by Yang Berhormat Datuk Dr. Senator Hajah Fuziah Salleh, Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, alongside Azliza Azmel, Corporate Services Executive Director of Lotus’s Malaysia.

“At Lotus’s, we believe local SMEs are the backbone of the Malaysian economy. Through this campaign, we aim to provide a consistent platform that helps them grow, scale, and reach more customers.

Our long-term partnership with MDT COL reflects our shared mission to promote domestic economic growth and national self-sufficiency.”

She added that supporting local innovation and quality not only benefits businesses but also uplifts communities. “Every Ringgit spent on local brands creates a ripple effect of positive impact,” she said.

Beyond the Campaign: Long-Term SME Empowerment

Lotus’s Malaysia continues to invest in long-term initiatives designed to enhance SME development and capability-building, including:

  • Biannual SME Fairs offering up to 50% discounts on selected SME products.
  • Business matching sessions organised with MDT COL and government agencies to identify potential SME suppliers.
  • SME Empowerment Seminars, which have benefited over 400 participants from 150 companies since 2024. Seven SMEs from the latest session are now preparing to list their products in Lotus’s outlets.
  • Ongoing business mentoring programs to help existing SME suppliers improve marketability, increase sales, and strengthen product quality.

These efforts showcase Lotus’s long-term dedication to nurturing local entrepreneurs and providing them with the tools needed to succeed in today’s competitive retail landscape.

Spotlight on Local and Social Entrepreneurs

This year’s Buy Malaysian Products Campaign features 19 participating SMEs, including 11 entrepreneurs from Lotus’s recent SME Empowerment Seminar. Lotus’s has also extended participation to five social enterprises, highlighting inclusivity and sustainability in Malaysian business.

These social entrepreneurs focus on initiatives such as:

  • Developing activewear for persons with disabilities,
  • Creating employment opportunities for adults with special needs,
  • Promoting environmental education programs,
  • Empowering local F&B initiatives, and
  • Introducing sustainable protein solutions to the market.

Through these collaborations, Lotus’s continues to champion diversity, social responsibility, and environmental awareness — all while strengthening Malaysia’s local economy.

Exclusive “Jualan Rahmah” Promotion at Lotus’s Setia Alam

Adding excitement to the campaign launch, Lotus’s Setia Alam hosted a one-day exclusive “Jualan Rahmah” promotion on 6 November 2025, featuring discounts of up to 30% on 75 selected items.

The promotion included everyday essentials such as groceries, fresh produce, household detergents, and basic commodities — ensuring customers get more value for their Ringgit.

Recognising Excellence Among Local Suppliers

In conjunction with the campaign, Lotus’s Malaysia also honoured several high-performing SME suppliers for their consistent excellence in both sales and service.

This recognition serves as motivation for local entrepreneurs to continue innovating and competing with more established brands in the market.

Empowering Malaysians to Buy Local

With the success of the Buy Malaysian Products Campaign, Lotus’s Malaysia remains a steadfast advocate for local business empowerment.

By supporting Malaysian-made goods, consumers can play a vital role in strengthening the national economy, creating jobs, and fostering a self-sustaining ecosystem where local talent thrives.

As the 8th edition of the campaign unfolds, Lotus’s invites all Malaysians to visit their nearest store, explore locally made products, and celebrate the spirit of homegrown excellence.

As the destination of choice for customers seeking quality products at the right price, Lotus’s strives to create a delightful shopping experience and provide exceptional service to both business owners and end consumers instore and online.

Lotus’s is committed to sustainability and actively support local communities through various #KitakanJiran initiatives, ensuring that its operations have a positive impact on people and the environment.
