Midea Unites APAC Under “Power of One” Vision, Strengthening Local Commitment in Malaysia

Midea unites APAC Under the Power of One Vision

Midea, one of the world’s largest home appliance manufacturers, has taken a bold step toward uniting its Asia-Pacific operations under a single shared vision — the “Power of One.”

At its first-ever APAC Dealer Conference held in Bali, the brand brought together 450 regional partners to showcase cutting-edge innovations and strengthen commitments to local markets, including Malaysia.

The conference marked a historic milestone for Midea’s regional strategy, aligning its technological excellence, service standards, and sustainability initiatives toward a unified goal: becoming the world’s No.1 smart home appliance company by 2028, targeting USD 1.5 billion in sales revenue across APAC.

The Power of One: Technology, Local Strength, and Partnership

According to Mr. Zeal Jiang, President of Midea Asia Pacific Region, the “Power of One” vision stands on three core elements: technology leadership, local-for-local capabilities, and partnerships.

By continuing to invest in R&D, expanding regional production facilities, and collaborating closely with local partners, Midea aims to drive smarter, more sustainable living for every household in the Asia-Pacific region.

The event featured 150 products across five innovation zones, each representing Midea’s leadership in product design and intelligent living:

  • Smart Master: AI-powered cooling and real-time air purification, seamlessly connected via the Midea SmartHome App.
  • AI Ecomaster: Energy-saving systems using AI optimization that reduce energy consumption by up to 30%.
  • Space Master: Space-efficient appliances like compact refrigerators and washer-dryers that maximize functionality.
  • Residential Air-Conditioners: Built for durability in humid climates using Prime Guard™ corrosion resistance.
  • Midea Building Technologies (MBT): Large-scale systems like VC MAX VRF and Magboost Apex chiller for efficient commercial use.

Innovation That Powers Global Leadership

Midea’s global growth has been fueled by innovation. Over the last five years, the company has invested USD 10 billion in R&D, supported by a workforce of 23,000 R&D professionals.

It currently holds 100,000 patents and has contributed to 1,900 technology standards, showcasing the company’s commitment to shaping the future of smart living.

By 2028, Midea plans to invest CNY 50 billion (USD 6.96 billion) into fields such as AI, robotics, and new energy, building on milestones like the debut of MIRA, its humanoid household robot, at the 2025 World AI Conference.

These innovations reflect Midea’s ongoing pursuit of intelligent technologies that enhance both household and industrial ecosystems.

Empowering Local Growth: From Factories to Service Excellence

At the conference, Mr. Jiang emphasized that Midea’s APAC success depends not only on innovation but also on deep local integration.
Midea currently operates 63 production bases worldwide, including nine in Southeast Asia.

Its Thailand factory was recognized as a World Economic Forum Lighthouse Factory for its supply chain resilience — the first of its kind in the global air-conditioning industry.

To enhance service quality, Midea has introduced the Midea Club App, enabling technicians across the region to manage installation, delivery, and warranty services through one unified platform.

With over 200 annual training sessions and partnerships with 1,800 service centers, Midea ensures consistent customer satisfaction and after-sales support.

In Malaysia, Midea conducts quarterly training sessions to upskill local technicians, aligning service standards with global best practices. This effort not only strengthens the brand’s technical network but also supports the nation’s growing pool of engineering talent.

Building a Sustainable and Connected Future

Beyond technology, Midea’s strength lies in its commitment to sustainability and community impact.

Recognized in the Sustainability Yearbook (China Edition) 2025 by S&P Global, the company’s ESG initiatives span disaster relief, youth development, and environmental conservation.

In Malaysia, Midea’s contributions include flood relief programs, support for elderly care homes, and partnerships with the Kelantan Badminton Association to foster youth development.

These efforts highlight how global leadership can create tangible, positive change at the local level.

Regionally, Midea has also participated in coral restoration in Bali, planting over 1,000 corals with the Mangrove Indonesia Lestari Foundation — a move that supports marine biodiversity and the livelihoods of coastal communities.

Connecting with the World Through Sports and Culture

Midea’s dedication to connecting with global audiences extends beyond technology. The brand is the Main Partner Sleeve Sponsor of FC Barcelona and maintains partnerships with both the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and Manchester City FC.

These collaborations showcase Midea’s dynamic approach in merging lifestyle, culture, and innovation on an international stage.

Midea’s “Power of One” vision marks a new era of innovation and collaboration across the Asia-Pacific region.

By uniting technology, sustainability, and local partnerships, the brand continues to redefine what it means to be a global leader that truly cares about the communities it serves.

For Malaysia, this means more than just advanced appliances — it’s about progress, empowerment, and building a smarter, more connected future for all.
