Basketball fans, it’s time to lace up and hit the courts because NBA 2K26 is about to redefine the way players experience basketball culture in gaming.
Visual Concepts, together with NBA star Tyrese Haliburton, recently unveiled the latest features and updates coming to The City – the central hub of competition, community, and culture in NBA 2K26.
Available on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch™ 2, this year’s installment is packed with fresh innovations designed to make the experience more immersive, competitive, and rewarding than ever before.
A New Accessible City Layout
One of the most exciting upgrades is the all-new City layout. Navigation has been streamlined so players can move across different areas faster than ever.
Wherever you’re standing, you’ll be able to see nearly every corner of The City, making it easy to jump into games, meet friends, or explore.
For the first time, The City runs at 60 frames per second on next-gen consoles, delivering smooth movement, fluid camera panning, and an overall polished experience that makes every game feel seamless.
Season Parks Return with a Twist
Parks have always been a fan favorite, and in NBA 2K26, they’re back bigger than ever with Season Parks. Every season introduces a brand-new Park – including HD remasters of all four iconic NBA 2K16 MyPARKs – designed with stunning, real-world inspired environments.
Season 1 kicks off with Skyline Park, an urban playground that blends the energy of city basketball with a fresh competitive atmosphere.
Players can fight for the title of Park MVP, go on hot streaks to etch their name onto the court, or break opponents’ winning streaks with the new Streak Breaker bonus, earning extra VC along the way. Every Park brings a new reason to return, compete, and dominate.
Introducing All-New Crews
For players who thrive on teamwork and community, NBA 2K26 introduces Crews – a brand-new feature allowing players to create or join a squad with up to 50 members. Crews have their own custom logo and Crew level displayed in every player’s MyPLAYER nameplate.
As your Crew plays games and completes weekly goals, you’ll climb through 30 Crew levels, unlocking exclusive rewards including:
- Custom Crew logos
- Branded Crew clothing
- VC and REP multipliers
- And more
Whether you’re rolling deep with friends or keeping it tight with a small squad, Crews bring a new competitive layer to The City.
Leaderboards, Statues & Bragging Rights
Competition in The City is about more than just winning games – it’s about cementing your legacy. NBA 2K26 introduces new leaderboards that spotlight top players across modes, from Park dominance to Crew rankings.
The highest-ranked player in each mode gets more than just recognition – they’ll see a 12-foot statue of their MyPLAYER placed outside the respective mode’s building.
For regional bragging rights, the new Geo Rank leaderboard lets players compete to become the best in their area, complete with a custom flair showcased during pre-game intros.
For Crews, dedicated leaderboards track which squad rules The City, adding another layer of prestige to your Crew’s journey.
Pro-AM Summit and Street Kings Mode
NBA 2K26 also expands its competitive scene with the Pro-AM Summit, a bi-seasonal event featuring 3v3 and 5v5 tournaments. These events offer elite rewards, making them a must for dedicated players aiming to prove themselves on the biggest stage.
In addition, the new Street Kings mode replaces last year’s Streetball courts. Here, players can sharpen their skills against tough CPU bosses in a Roman-inspired environment, adding variety and depth to gameplay.
Extra Features for Every Player
The City in NBA 2K26 is packed with more ways to play and improve:
- Beginner, Daily, Seasonal, and Lifetime challenges to keep goals fresh
- Ability to swap easily between MyPLAYER builds without leaving The City
- An updated MyCOURT for practicing skills, scrimmaging with friends, or testing new moves
All of this is designed to create a living, breathing basketball world where every choice, every win, and every loss shapes your journey.
As Erick Boenisch, VP of NBA Development at Visual Concepts, explains:
“The City has become the epicenter of NBA 2K and basketball culture. With things like our new layout, leaderboards, and the Crews feature, The City is built to give players the opportunity to put Ball Over Everything.”
From its beginnings with The Park in 2K14 to the massive, vibrant ecosystem it is today, The City represents not just a mode, but the soul of NBA 2K. With NBA 2K26, players will find more ways than ever to compete, connect, and chase glory.
NBA 2K26 is shaping up to be the most ambitious basketball simulation yet, with The City at the heart of it all. From the brand-new Crews system and remastered Parks to next-gen leaderboards and the Pro-AM Summit, every feature has been designed to deepen community, elevate competition, and celebrate basketball culture.
Whether you’re a newcomer looking to make your mark or a veteran chasing legendary status, The City in NBA 2K26 offers the ultimate stage to become basketball royalty.
