Propel Global Berhad (“Propel Global” or the “Group”) announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Propel CMT Sdn. Bhd. (“PCMT”), in joint venture with China State Construction Engineering (M) Sdn. Bhd. (“CSCEM”) (collectively, “the JV”), has received and executed a Letter of Acceptance from a multinational company based in Singapore for an initial civil and structural works package for a data centre development in Johor Bahru.
The contract, valued at approximately RM70 million, covers civil and structural construction works and is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2026.
The Letter of Acceptance also includes provisions for potential subsequent phases (“Optional Works”), which are expected to be confirmed by the end of 2025. If awarded, these additional works would increase the total estimated value of the overall project to approximately RM325 million.
Ms. Angeline Lee, Executive Director / Group Chief Executive Officer of Propel Global
“This project marks a strategic shift towards higher value digital infrastructure, supported by the Group’s established EPCC expertise. Through this award, PCMT will gain additional data centre execution capabilities, benefit from technical knowledge transfer and strengthen its skill sets, all of which will accelerate our ambition to become a recognised player in Malaysia’s digital economy supply chain.”
She added:
“The global data centre industry is evolving rapidly, driven by rising demand for green and energy efficient facilities. Propel Global’s entry into the data centre space is fully aligned with our renewable energy ambitions, positioning the Group at the intersection of two major trends, the digital economy and the energy transition, a future we are actively pursuing.”
With this award, Propel Global anticipates a significant increase in its order book over the next three years as it continues to pursue opportunities in both the data centre and renewable energy sectors.
The Board of Directors views this award as a transformational milestone for Propel Global, affirming its ability to compete in high growth markets, enhancing technical competencies and opening a new chapter of growth beyond traditional EPCC operations.
