Only Three Spots Left: Selangor Red Giants Dominate Week 5 of MPL Malaysia Season 15

The intensity of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Malaysia Season 15 has reached a fever pitch. With only one more week left in the Regular Season, the Playoffs race is in full swing—and the Selangor Red Giants OG Esports (SRG) just made a thunderous statement.

Selangor Red Giants (SRG) Dismantle Homebois to Go Top

Week 5 saw an epic top-of-the-table showdown between two undefeated giants—SRG and Homebois (HB). Both had already secured Playoffs spots, but pride, momentum, and the coveted top seed were all on the line.

What was expected to be a close contest ended up being a blowout, with SRG obliterating HB in straight games.

From the outset, SRG outclassed their opponents, closing Game 1 with a crushing 12k Gold lead. Their aggressive coordination and clinical execution left HB reeling. Head Coach Michael “Arcadia” Bocado summed it up:

“Being number one [in the Regular Season] is just a bonus. But we take it as an extra motivation; we believe that we need to work hard to make sure that there’s only one number one.”

SkyZED Steals the Spotlight with Back-to-Back Savages

SkyZED Steals the Spotlight
SkyZED beams on stage after a second consecutive Savage showing against TR on Day 2.

While SRG vs HB grabbed the headlines, Muhammad Taufiq Hidayat “SkyZED” bin Mohd Ghazali made history. The DX Soul (DXS) player recorded back-to-back Savage kills—a feat never before seen in MPL Malaysia.

A Savage in MLBB occurs when a player wipes out all five enemies in quick succession, and SkyZED did it twice in one week, against Team Rey (TR) and Todak (TDK).

DXS, one of the newest teams in the league after being promoted from MAL MY, showed they’re more than capable of competing on the big stage. Their two hard-fought 2-1 victories have kept their Playoff hopes alive heading into Week 6.

Monster Vicious Punch Their Ticket to the Playoffs

Monster Vicious (MV) also enjoyed a flawless week. They clinched two clean 2-0 wins over Ocean Black (OB) and TR, securing their place in the Playoffs.

OB’s loss confirmed their relegation, having failed to secure a single win across seven matches.

With five weeks complete, SRG and HB are tied on 20 Live Points. However, SRG hold the edge due to 13 Aggregate Points compared to HB’s 11. MV leapfrogged AERO into third, having played their game in hand.

The battle for the remaining three Playoffs spots is now between:

  • AERO Esports
  • Team Vamos (VMS)
  • DX Soul (DXS)
  • Todak (TDK)

What’s Next in Week 6?

Match Schedule Week 6 MPL Malaysia Season 15

Week 6 (23–25 May) will determine who advances and who falls short. The focus will be split between two fronts:

  • Playoffs Contenders: Four teams fighting for the final three spots and a chance to enter the Upper Bracket.
  • Relegation Battle: JP Niners (JP) and TR will clash to avoid the ninth-place finish. The loser will have to battle the second-placed team from MAL MY for a spot in Season 16.

Key Matches to Watch:

  • AERO vs MV (23 May): MV must sweep both AERO and HB to reach 21 points and challenge for an Upper Bracket berth.
  • VMS vs AERO (24 May): A duel between rising stars—16-year-old Danish “Error 404” Tahqif vs 18-year-old Indonesian prodigy Muhammad “Hazle” Praba.
  • TDK vs JP (25 May): One of Malaysia’s oldest esports names must halt their decline or risk missing the Playoffs entirely.

Road to the Mid Season Cup 2025 in Riyadh

The top two teams at the end of the Playoffs will not only be crowned local champions but will also earn the honor of representing Malaysia at the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid Season Cup (MSC) at the Esports World Cup 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with a massive USD 3,000,000 prize pool up for grabs.

As the curtain falls on Week 5 of MPL Malaysia Season 15, SRG look like the team to beat. But with legendary organizations fighting for their Playoffs lives and young prodigies rising fast, anything can happen in Week 6. The Malaysian MLBB scene has never been more exciting.
