Kuala Lumpur Tower Run International Challenge 2025 Returns

The legendary Kuala Lumpur Tower Run International Challenge (KLTRIC2025) is back, and this year, it’s bigger, bolder, and officially recognized as the Malaysia Towerrunning National Championship 2025.

Organized by LSH Service Master Sdn. Bhd., the operator of Kuala Lumpur Tower, this year’s edition marks the 23rd anniversary of the iconic vertical race.

Set to take place on Sunday, 30 November 2025, from 5:00 AM, the challenge will bring together 1,500 runners from 15 countries, all ready to conquer 1,608 steps and ascend 292 metres above ground level in a thrilling test of endurance, willpower, and national pride.

Carrying the powerful tagline “Victory is Vertical”, KLTRIC2025 stands as a symbol of human strength and determination, uniting both professional athletes and fitness enthusiasts from around the world.

For more than two decades, the Kuala Lumpur Tower Run has held a special place in Malaysia’s sports heritage. As one of the world’s most renowned vertical races, it has helped position Malaysia as a global hub for sports tourism and stair racing.

According to Khairil Faizal Hj Othman, Chief Executive Officer of LSH Service Master Sdn. Bhd., “For 23 years, Kuala Lumpur Tower has proudly hosted this prestigious challenge, nurturing a legacy of excellence and endurance among elite vertical runners.”

He also highlighted one of the event’s proudest moments — when Malaysian athlete Michele Tan Bee Kiang set the Guinness World Record for the fastest vertical mile (female) in 1 hour and 33 minutes, equivalent to climbing the tower 6.5 times consecutively.

“Her achievement truly embodies our vision of making KL Tower a global hub for action sports tourism. We’re honoured to welcome her once again for KLTRIC2025, as we continue to support Visit Malaysia 2026 and promote Malaysia as a premier destination for world-class sporting events,”.

Championing Malaysia’s National Sports Agenda

As the official Malaysia Towerrunning National Championship 2025, KLTRIC2025 plays a crucial role in supporting the government’s National Sports Vision 2030 and the “Sports for All” (Sukan Untuk Semua) initiative.

The event promotes active lifestyles, community unity, and international recognition, reinforcing Malaysia’s ambition to become a world-class sports city.

Additionally, KLTRIC2025 is sanctioned by the Towerrunning World Association (TWA) as a World Championship Points Race, allowing elite athletes to earn points for their global rankings.

Among the headliners is Malaysia’s very own world champion and No.1 tower runner, Soh Wai Ching, who will return to home ground to defend his title. His participation adds a powerful sense of pride and anticipation to this year’s competition.
