Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 This October
Call of Duty fans on Nintendo Switch 2 have plenty to look forward to as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 officially prepares to launch on Nintendo’s latest console on 23 October.
The first Nintendo Switch 2 trailer has now been released, offering players a glimpse of the blockbuster action and technical features coming to the platform. The game is being positioned as a full Call of Duty experience that can be enjoyed both at home and on the move.
Modern Warfare 4 Comes to Switch 2
The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Modern Warfare 4 will support several features designed specifically to take advantage of the console’s capabilities. Players will be able to use Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, gyro controls and the Pro Controller, alongside HDR support and handheld play.
The game will also feature cross-play and cross-progression, allowing Switch 2 players to connect and progress alongside players on other supported platforms.
For fans who have been waiting to experience Call of Duty on Nintendo hardware again, the release represents a significant return. According to Digital Legends studio head Xavier Carrillo-Costa, this marks Call of Duty’s return to a Nintendo platform for the first time in more than a decade.
First-Ever Call of Duty Open Beta on Nintendo
Before the full game arrives, Nintendo Switch 2 players can get an early taste through the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta, running from 29 August through 2 September AEST.
The beta will offer more than traditional multiplayer action. Players can explore a selection of maps, modes and weapons, while also trying the Campaign mission “Entrenched” and Call of Duty: Warzone Resurgence on the new Zodiac map.
Importantly, players can already preload the beta, making it easier to jump into the action once the testing period begins.
A Major Moment for Nintendo Players
Nintendo of America’s Steve Singer said the company is excited to welcome Modern Warfare 4 to Nintendo Switch 2, highlighting Call of Duty’s combination of competitive multiplayer and blockbuster storytelling.
For Nintendo fans, the arrival of Modern Warfare 4 could be one of the biggest third-party gaming releases on the Switch 2. With handheld play, multiple control options and cross-platform features, the game aims to deliver the familiar Call of Duty experience without being limited to the living room.
With the Open Beta happening first and the full launch scheduled for October, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is shaping up to be a major addition to the Nintendo Switch 2 gaming library.
