Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026 Brings Malaysia’s Culture to Life

Malaysia’s vibrant cultural diversity takes centre stage at the Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026, with the highly anticipated Colours of Parade bringing together around 1,500 dancers and cultural performers from across the country.

Taking place at IOI City Mall Putrajaya on 3 October 2026, the spectacular parade is the cultural highlight of the 12-day festival organised by Tourism Malaysia from 23 September to 4 October 2026.

The festival is part of the Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 (VM2026–2027) campaign and offers a unique combination of Malaysian culture, traditional arts, interactive experiences and motorsport-inspired attractions.

Celebrating Malaysia’s Cultural Diversity

Colours of Parade

Colours of Parade showcases the rich heritage of Malaysia through traditional music, dance, colourful costumes and artistic performances representing different regions of the country.

Performances highlight the Northern, Central, Southern and East Coast regions, as well as Sabah and Sarawak. Each performance brings its own distinctive cultural identity while collectively reflecting the unity and diversity that define Malaysia.

The parade also features performances from various communities, including the Orang Asli, Chinese, Indian, Sikh and Siamese communities.

Adding even more energy to the celebration are Nusantara percussion performances and brass bands, creating a lively atmosphere throughout the event. The parade culminates in a grand Citrawarna and VM2026–2027 celebration, making it one of the major cultural highlights of this year’s festival.

More Than Just a Cultural Parade

While Colours of Parade is the main attraction, Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026 offers visitors plenty of other experiences across its three main locations.

At IOI City Mall Putrajaya, visitors can explore Colours of Speed, which features racing-inspired attractions and interactive activities. This unique concept combines the excitement of motorsport with Malaysia’s cultural tourism offerings.

Meanwhile, Colours of Art & Culture features 14 interactive stations where visitors can discover traditional crafts, heritage arts and live cultural demonstrations.

The festival also extends beyond Putrajaya to KLIA Terminal 1 and Sama-Sama Hotel KLIA, allowing international travellers and hotel guests to experience elements of Malaysian culture during different stages of their journey.

Supporting Malaysia’s Tourism Momentum

The festival comes at an important time as Malaysia continues to build momentum towards Visit Malaysia 2026–2027.

According to the festival information, Malaysia recorded 28.8 million international visitors between January and August 2026, representing a 1.8 per cent increase compared with 28.2 million during the same period last year.

Domestic tourism has also shown positive growth, with 151.6 million domestic visitors recorded during the first half of 2026, an increase of 5.6 per cent from 143.5 million recorded during the corresponding period in 2025.

Citrawarna Speed Festival demonstrates how collaboration between tourism, hospitality, cultural and other industry stakeholders can create engaging experiences for both domestic and international visitors.

Culture Meets Speed

The festival will conclude on 4 October with a special Lamborghini Activation at IOI City Mall Putrajaya, featuring approximately 100 Lamborghini vehicles.

The combination of colourful cultural performances, traditional arts and motorsport-inspired activities gives Citrawarna Speed Festival its distinctive identity.

By bringing together Malaysia’s heritage and the excitement of speed, the festival offers visitors a different way to experience the country’s culture while supporting Malaysia’s ambition to strengthen its position as a sports-focused tourism destination.

With Colours of Parade providing a spectacular showcase of Malaysia’s diverse communities, Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026 ultimately celebrates what makes the country unique — its cultures, traditions, creativity and the unity that brings them together.
