Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026: Malaysia’s Culture Meets Motorsport

Malaysia is preparing to put a colourful spin on the world of motorsport with the Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026, a unique celebration that combines the country’s rich cultural heritage with the excitement of speed.

Organised by Tourism Malaysia, the festival will take place from 23 September to 4 October 2026, as part of the Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 (VM2026–2027) campaign. The event will bring together cultural showcases, motorsport-inspired attractions and interactive public experiences across several key locations.

A Festival Across Putrajaya and KLIA

Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026 will take place at IOI City Mall Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 and Sama-Sama Hotel.

The festival is built around two main components — Colours of Speed and Colours of Art & Culture — offering visitors a combination of motorsport excitement and Malaysia’s diverse cultural traditions.

With the festival being held at locations connected to shopping, tourism and international travel, Tourism Malaysia hopes to attract both local visitors and international tourists.

Colours of Speed: Racing Excitement for Everyone

For motorsport fans, Colours of Speed will offer a variety of racing-inspired attractions.

Visitors can explore a collection of racing memorabilia and autographed items, alongside a showcase of iconic supercars. These displays are expected to provide an exciting experience for automotive enthusiasts and casual visitors alike.

One of the key attractions will be a simulator competition at IOI City Mall Putrajaya. Members of the public will have the opportunity to put their virtual racing skills to the test, compete through qualifying stages and potentially progress to the final round.

Participants will also have the chance to compete for prizes, making the simulator experience one of the festival’s highlights for visitors looking for some friendly competition.

Colours of Art & Culture Celebrates Malaysia’s Diversity

While speed takes centre stage, the festival will also shine a spotlight on the cultural identity that makes Malaysia unique.

Through Colours of Art & Culture, visitors will experience cultural performances, traditional music and dance, handicrafts and interactive activities representing communities and traditions from different parts of the country.

The programme aims to demonstrate that Malaysia’s tourism appeal extends far beyond its modern attractions, with its cultural diversity remaining one of the country’s strongest assets.

1,500 Performers to Join Colours of Parade

One of the most anticipated highlights will be the Colours of Parade, featuring approximately 1,500 dancers and cultural performers from different regions and communities across Malaysia.

The parade will showcase traditional music, dance, colourful costumes and various forms of cultural expression, creating a vibrant celebration of Malaysia’s multicultural heritage.

Further details about the Colours of Parade will be announced at a later date.

Supporting Visit Malaysia 2026–2027

Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026 is supported by various strategic partners, including Yes Travel & Holidays Sdn. Bhd., IOI Properties, JKKN, Istana Budaya, Kraftangan Malaysia, Sama-Sama Hotel, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB), SNS Network, SDeal Malaysia Sim Racing & Motorsport and HP, among others.

The festival also comes at a time when Malaysia continues to record growth in international tourism. From January to June 2026, the country welcomed 21.1 million international visitor arrivals, representing a 2.5 per cent increase compared with 20.6 million during the same period in 2025.

By combining the global appeal of motorsport with Malaysia’s cultural vibrancy, Tourism Malaysia hopes Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026 will attract wider audiences while creating tourism and economic opportunities for local communities.

The festival is another effort to position Malaysia as a vibrant, diverse and competitive tourism destination under Visit Malaysia 2026–2027.

Full competition rules, participation requirements, registration details, schedules and terms and conditions will be announced through the official Citrawarna Speed Festival social media channels.
