Blizzard Entertainment is bringing two iconic universes together as Diablo Immortal officially collides with StarCraft in a massive limited-time crossover event beginning 13 May 2026.
Running until 10 June 2026, the crossover introduces an entirely new sci-fi inspired experience where the deadly Zerg Swarm invades Sanctuary, unleashing chaos, mutations, powerful bosses, and exclusive themed rewards for players.
The event transforms the dark fantasy world of Diablo Immortal into a battleground between demonic forces and interstellar threats, creating one of the game’s most ambitious crossover collaborations to date.
The Swarm Invades Sanctuary
At the heart of the event is the “Aeon of Stars” seasonal experience, featuring four weeks of rotating reward cycles and special gameplay content.
Players will encounter mutated enemies, corrupted dungeons, and StarCraft-inspired battles as the Zerg infestation spreads throughout Sanctuary.
One of the biggest highlights is the introduction of the new Legendary Gem called Baneboil, a powerful item inspired by the Zerg race. The gem allows players to unleash corrosive explosions that devastate enemies and spread destruction across the battlefield.
Face the Tal’Darim in Dark Ascension
The crossover also introduces Dark Ascension, a special limited-time boss encounter inspired by StarCraft’s feared Tal’Darim faction.
Players can team up in groups of four to challenge dangerous enemies including:
- Tal’Darim Templar
- Ascended Archons
These reimagined StarCraft units have been adapted into Diablo Immortal’s dark fantasy combat system, creating a unique hybrid gameplay experience for fans of both franchises.
Completing objectives during the event rewards players with exclusive cosmetics, event items, and progression bonuses.
Infested Rifts Bring New Challenges
Another major addition is Infested Rifts, where Elder Rifts become overrun with Zerg mutations.
Players entering these corrupted rifts will battle waves of infested enemies before facing the deadly Feral Hydralisk boss.
Successfully clearing Infested Rifts rewards players with exclusive Legendary weapons featuring special affixes tied to the event.
The feature adds a fresh layer of unpredictability and challenge to the traditional Elder Rift gameplay experience.
New Conqueror Mode Inspired by StarCraft Factions
Blizzard is also introducing a special variant of Conqueror Mode featuring iconic faction-based powers from the StarCraft universe.
Players can align themselves with one of three legendary factions:
| Faction | Ability |
|---|---|
| Terran | Stim Pack grants +30% Attack & Movement Speed |
| Zerg | Attacks launch poison projectiles |
| Protoss | Gain protective energy shields |
Only faction-specific orbs tied to the player’s chosen side will appear during matches, encouraging strategic gameplay and faction identity throughout battles.
StarCraft-Themed Familiar Skins Arrive
Fans of StarCraft can also unlock crossover-themed familiar skins, including the fast and aggressive Zergling companion.
The Zergling familiar introduces unique combat advantages, allowing portable skills to be used without cooldowns during battle.
This creates a relentless combat style inspired by the overwhelming aggression of the Zerg Swarm itself.
Rise as the Queen of Blades
The crossover event also expands Diablo Immortal’s cosmetic offerings through a new Phantom Market inspired by StarCraft.
Players can obtain themed cosmetics and transform their characters with visuals inspired by the legendary Queen of Blades, one of StarCraft’s most iconic characters.
The crossover blends StarCraft’s futuristic sci-fi aesthetics with Diablo’s dark fantasy world, creating a visually unique experience for players.
Blizzard Continues Expanding Diablo Immortal
The Diablo Immortal × StarCraft crossover showcases Blizzard’s continued effort to keep Diablo Immortal fresh through large-scale seasonal content and franchise collaborations.
For longtime fans of both franchises, the event delivers nostalgia, action, and entirely new gameplay systems while introducing StarCraft elements to Diablo’s brutal world in exciting ways.
With limited-time rewards, new bosses, mutated dungeons, and crossover cosmetics available only during the event period, players will want to jump into Sanctuary before the Swarm disappears on 10 June 2026.
