Travellers flying between Kuala Lumpur and Dubai are about to get another reason to look forward to their journey, as Emirates prepares to introduce its next-generation Airbus A350 aircraft on the route from 1 September 2026.
The new aircraft will operate daily as flight EK344/345 between Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Dubai, giving Malaysian travellers the opportunity to experience one of Emirates’ newest aircraft and its latest generation of cabin products.
The arrival of the A350 also strengthens Emirates’ Premium Economy offering in Kuala Lumpur, with 52 Premium Economy seats available daily across its A350 and retrofitted Boeing 777 services.
Emirates A350 Arrives in Kuala Lumpur
The introduction of the Emirates A350 marks another significant milestone for the airline in Malaysia, particularly as Emirates celebrates 30 years of operations to Kuala Lumpur.
According to Emirates Country Manager in Malaysia, Saeed Mubarak, the airline has continued to invest in its products and services throughout its three decades of operations in the country.
Following the successful introduction of a retrofitted Boeing 777 featuring Premium Economy on EK346/347, the new A350 will provide another option for passengers looking for a more comfortable and upgraded flying experience.
With the A350, retrofitted Boeing 777 and A380 all serving Malaysia, travellers will have access to all three of Emirates’ flagship aircraft types.
A More Comfortable Premium Cabin Experience
The Emirates A350 features a three-class configuration comprising 32 Business Class seats, 28 Premium Economy seats and 238 Economy Class seats.
For Business Class passengers, the aircraft comes with lie-flat seats arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration, giving every passenger direct access to the aisle. Wireless charging is also available, adding another practical touch for travellers who need to keep their devices powered during long-haul flights.
Meanwhile, Premium Economy is likely to be one of the highlights for Malaysian travellers.
The cabin has been designed to offer additional comfort compared with standard Economy Class, making it an attractive option for passengers who want a more premium experience without stepping up to Business Class.
With the addition of the A350 service, Emirates will now offer a total of 52 Premium Economy seats daily across its Kuala Lumpur operations.
Next-Generation Inflight Entertainment
Beyond seating and cabin design, the Emirates A350 also brings upgraded technology onboard.
Passengers can access the latest generation of Emirates’ ice inflight entertainment system through ultra-responsive touchscreens featuring 4K and 4K HDR displays.
For movie and television fans, the improved screens are designed to provide a more immersive entertainment experience during the flight.
Premium cabin passengers will also find electronic window blinds featuring the Emirates Ghaf tree motif when closed, while digital inflight menus can be accessed through the ice system.
Connectivity is another area where the new A350 aims to make a difference.
The aircraft features Wi-Fi powered by ViaSat’s Global Xpress satellite network, alongside improved Wireless Access Points designed to provide better connectivity throughout the aircraft.
For passengers who want to stay connected, work remotely or simply browse the internet while travelling, reliable onboard Wi-Fi can make a long-haul journey feel considerably easier.
Connecting Kuala Lumpur to the World
The Emirates A350 service is more than just an upgrade to the Kuala Lumpur-Dubai route. It also provides Malaysian travellers with a consistent experience when connecting through Dubai to destinations across Emirates’ international network.
From Dubai, passengers can connect to destinations across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, as well as the Americas.
More than 20 destinations served by Emirates’ A350 network can be accessed via Dubai, including popular cities such as Istanbul, Lyon and Frankfurt.
This means travellers departing Kuala Lumpur on EK345 or arriving on EK344 can enjoy a more consistent aircraft and cabin experience as they continue their journey beyond Dubai.
Another Milestone for Emirates Malaysia
The introduction of the A350 comes at an interesting time for Emirates and its Malaysian operations.
After 30 years of connecting Kuala Lumpur with Dubai and destinations around the world, the arrival of the airline’s latest-generation aircraft demonstrates its continued investment in the Malaysian market.
For travellers, the biggest attraction is simple: more choice.
Whether passengers are looking for the space of Premium Economy, the privacy and lie-flat comfort of Business Class, or the upgraded entertainment and connectivity offered throughout the aircraft, the Emirates A350 brings a fresh flying experience to Kuala Lumpur.
Starting 1 September 2026, EK344/345 will give Malaysian travellers another opportunity to experience Emirates’ newest generation of long-haul travel — and perhaps make the journey just as memorable as the destination itself.
Customers can book their journeys through www.emirates.com, the Emirates App, Emirates Retail stores, the Emirates contact centre or travel agents.
