The three celebrities brought their expertise and personal resources together in an effort to uplift the spirits of female refugee students, by conducting a workshop aimed to celebrate women empowerment. The event took place on 19 November in Fugee School.

The workshop was attended by Somalian refugees aged 14 to 17, and kicked off with a presentation on skin and hygiene by Deborah Henry and Tiz Zaqyah.

Actress Diana Danielle and Harveen Dhaliwal, co-founders of Luxuria Cosmetics conducted the second segment of the workshop which highlighted the correct techniques of makeup application and educated the girls on which cosmetics best suited their skin. The girls were also given the chance to apply those techniques on themselves and their peers.

In line with the recent launch of fashion accessories to add to their broad selection of products, Lazada.com.my sponsored scarves by Padieka Raccolta and hosted a hijab tutorial segment for the girls where Lazada Malaysia’s representative, Aaliyah Soraya had demonstrated a few in-trend styles.

KL Calling, an upcoming Youth Movement documented the day’s activities with a five-man crew. The group hopes to raise awareness on female and youth empowerment by broadcasting such events on Social Media platforms such as YouTube and Instagram.

The day ended with gift bags given out to the girls including shirts and daily essential toiletries by KL Calling, motivational notebooks and make up kits from Luxuria Cosmetics, as well as schooling stationary by Lazada Malaysia.
