HLISB Supports Ihya’ Ramadan 2026 at Masjid Jamek with Community and Spiritual Initiatives

HLISB Supports Ihya’ Ramadan 2026 at Masjid Jamek

In the heart of Kuala Lumpur, where heritage and modern life intersect, Hong Leong Islamic Bank (HLISB) has partnered with Masjid Jamek Sultan Abdul Samad to support the mosque’s Ihya’ Ramadan 2026 programme.

This meaningful collaboration reflects the bank’s commitment to combining spiritual enrichment with responsible financial stewardship, in line with its refreshed wealth proposition, “Timeless Principles Guiding Tomorrow’s Wealth.”

Through the initiative, HLISB aims to demonstrate how Islamic wealth management principles can extend beyond financial services and contribute to community well-being and spiritual development.

Strengthening Spiritual Literacy Through Tadarrus Al-Quran

A key component of the programme is the Tadarrus Al-Quran & Education initiative, which highlights the importance of Quranic recitation and learning during the holy month of Ramadan.

HLISB recognizes that spiritual knowledge and guidance play an essential role in shaping purposeful lives. As part of its contribution, the bank honored 24 Tadarrus Al-Quran teachers with a token of appreciation worth RM300 each.

These tokens were distributed through the opening of the Meezani Account-i, a Shariah-compliant savings account designed to encourage responsible financial habits while supporting ethical wealth creation.

By integrating financial empowerment with religious learning, HLISB aims to reinforce the idea that spiritual growth and financial stewardship can go hand in hand.

Volunteers Join Bubur Lambuk Community Tradition

In addition to supporting Quranic education, HLISB employees also participated directly in one of Malaysia’s most beloved Ramadan traditions — the preparation and distribution of bubur lambuk.

A group of 30 HLISB staff volunteers joined mosque officials and community members to help prepare the traditional porridge at Masjid Jamek. The morning session involved communal cooking, where volunteers worked together to prepare large batches of bubur lambuk using traditional slow-cooking methods.

Later in the evening, volunteers assisted with distributing the prepared packs to members of the public, including local residents and commuters passing through the busy city center.

This initiative not only provided food to the community but also fostered a spirit of togetherness and service during the sacred month.

Celebrating 20 Years of Hong Leong Islamic Bank (HLISB)

The initiative also comes at a significant milestone for the bank as it marks 20 years of operation in Malaysia.

According to Dafinah Ahmed Hilmi, the bank is entering a new phase with a refreshed wealth management proposition focused on creating meaningful value for both customers and society.

The framework is built upon five key pillars of Islamic Wealth Management:

These principles reflect the holistic approach of Islamic finance, which balances financial growth with ethical responsibility and social contribution.

Empowering Communities Through Compassion and Service

Speaking about the initiative, CEO Dafinah Ahmed Hilmi emphasized that Ramadan is a time for reflection, renewal, and generosity.

She noted that by supporting educators and community programs at Masjid Jamek, HLISB is bringing its wealth philosophy to life through acts of compassion and service.

The collaboration illustrates how corporate initiatives can align with community traditions to create meaningful impact. By investing in spiritual literacy and participating in community activities, HLISB hopes to nurture a more inclusive and resilient society.

As Kuala Lumpur continues to grow as a modern economic hub, partnerships like this highlight how organizations can remain grounded in values of faith, compassion, and shared prosperity — especially during the spiritually significant month of Ramadan.
