HUAWEI is getting ready to introduce its latest generation of smartwatches in Malaysia with the launch of the HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Series on 29 September 2026.
The new lineup combines premium design, advanced health insights and upgraded sports tracking, making it suitable for users who want a smartwatch that can keep up with both everyday routines and active lifestyles.
The new series arrives as Huawei continues to strengthen its position in the global wearable device market. According to the latest IDC Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker, Huawei ranked No.1 globally in wrist-worn device shipments during the first half of 2026, achieving more than 20% market share.
A New Approach to Health Awareness
One of the key highlights of the HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Series is the introduction of the HUAWEI-exclusive Diabetes Risk Study, a research initiative led by Universiti Malaya.
The study uses pulse-wave signals collected through the smartwatch’s PPG sensor, together with information such as age, gender, height and weight. After three to 14 days of continuous wear, the system assesses potential diabetes risk.
The assessment is designed to support greater health awareness and encourage users to consider lifestyle adjustments. It is worth noting that this feature is intended as a risk assessment rather than a medical diagnosis.
The new series also introduces the Huawei-first Physical Readiness Score, which provides a broader view of a user’s daily condition. It combines factors including recovery, heart rate variability, sleep, physical activity and emotional wellbeing into a single daily assessment.
Premium Materials Meet Everyday Comfort
Beyond health features, Huawei has also placed considerable attention on the design of the WATCH GT 7 Series.
The HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 will be available in 46mm and 41mm editions, with seven colour options across the lineup. Meanwhile, the HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Pro will be offered in three colourways and features a nano-tech ceramic bezel paired with a titanium alloy middle frame.
The Pro model also comes with sapphire glass, providing additional durability for users with active lifestyles. Huawei has introduced a new EasyCross Strap, featuring a clean tuck-under design aimed at providing a secure and comfortable fit.
Both models also feature a bright AMOLED display capable of reaching up to 3,000 nits peak brightness, which should help improve screen visibility when using the watch outdoors.
Smarter Tracking for Outdoor Sports
For outdoor enthusiasts, Huawei has upgraded the positioning capabilities of the new series.
The Enhanced AI-XDR Positioning system is designed to provide more reliable route tracking in challenging environments. Meanwhile, Smart Route Reconstruction can estimate sections of a route affected by GPS signal loss.
The HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Pro also receives additional sports features, particularly for golf and cycling. Golfers can access features such as Plays-like Distance and Shot Distance tracking, while cyclists can benefit from Intelligent Climbing Planning, Sharp Turn Alerts and Lactate Threshold Analysis.
These features expand the WATCH GT 7 Series beyond basic fitness tracking, giving users more detailed information during different types of sporting activities.
Up to 21 Days of Battery Life
Battery life remains another major feature of the new smartwatch lineup.
The HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Pro and HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 46mm offer up to 21 days of battery life, while the smaller HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 41mm provides up to 14 days.
The series also retains several practical features for everyday use. These include Touch ’n Go QR payments and compatibility with both Android and iOS smartphones.
For users looking for additional health functionality, the HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Pro also supports CE- and MDA-certified ECG functionality.
Malaysia Launch and Pre-Order Gifts
The HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Series will officially launch in Malaysia on 29 September 2026.
Customers can also look forward to complimentary gifts worth up to RM713, depending on the purchase offer.
