IJM Land Half Marathon 2017 have received overwhelming participation from all walks of life recently to challenge themselves and test their physical boundaries at this highly anticipated annual run.
More than 7,500 participants from all over Malaysia and from as far as Japan, Korea, New Zealand, United Kingdom and Philippines laced-up their running shoes on an early Sunday morning and converged at Dataran Centrio in Seremban 2 for the IJM Land Half Marathon 2017.
Now in its sixth year, the annual event continues to attract a strong participation and interest among the running community in Seremban 2 vicinity and its surrounding neighbourhoods, eclipsing the previous record of 6,000 participants in 2016.
“The IJM Land Half Marathon has captured the hearts of many running enthusiasts and those who wants to run for fun year after year. We set out from the very start to make this event not just a platform for runners but to reinforce community bonds and bring people from all walks of life together to enjoy sports, exemplifying our tagline “Run Together, Bond Stronger” – Mr Edward Chong, Managing Director of IJM Land Berhad.
For the third year in a row, funds raised from the IJM Land Half Marathon 2017 were channelled towards two remarkable local charities, namely the Pertubuhan Hospice Negeri Sembilan (Hospice) and Malaysia Lysosomal Diseases Association (MLDA).

IJM Land recognises the crucial roles in which each of these unsung heroes play, in improving the quality of life for less fortunate members of the community.
Through IJM Land Half Marathon, IJM Land has dedicated to use the annual event as a platform for awareness of social and health causes, in bringing people together to run for a good cause and for health.
In the spirit of health consciousness, the event also provided – through its medical partner Columbia Asia Hospital Seremban – selected health screenings for runners and visitors to the race.
IJM Land Half Marathon involves a 21KM Half Marathon category and two 10KM runs – one for adults aged 18 years and above and another for junior aged 12 years and above.
This coveted run also announced the fastest man and woman of the race, who will be in the running to receive the grand IJM Land Half Marathon Challenge Trophy.

With the objective of celebrating the runners’ greatest running moments, the unique Challenge Trophy will be awarded to the man and woman who come out tops in their respective categories for three consecutive years, with 2017 being its second year.
