A Race Through History and Heritage
What sets the KL City Day Half Marathon apart is its stunning route. Starting and finishing at Dataran Merdeka, runners will be surrounded by the architectural grandeur of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building, a historic icon that symbolizes Malaysia’s proud heritage.
As runners make their way through the city, they’ll encounter modern skyscrapers, lush greenery, and the legendary hills of Bukit Tunku, known for testing the endurance of even the most experienced runners.

KL City Day Half Marathon 2025 Categories
This year’s event features four race categories, designed to cater to all fitness levels:
- 21KM Half Marathon – Flag off at 4:00 AM
- 10KM Race – Flag off at 5:45 AM
- 5KM Fun Run – Flag off at 7:15 AM
- 3KM Fun Run – Flag off at 7:30 AM
With an estimated 12,000 runners expected this year (up from 10,000 in 2024), the event continues to grow as one of Malaysia’s premier city marathons.
In support of the “Sports for All” initiative by the government, the event is open to runners of all ages and abilities, including OKU (persons with disabilities) and family groups.
