K-Drama Legal Series “SUITS” & “Lawless Lawyer” on Tonton

Malaysia’s 1st and largest home-streaming service – tonton is expanding its K-drama library by introducing two new hottest legal drama series throughout June 2018.

Indulge in two all-new hits drama series “near simulcast” with their Korean debuts on tonton with “SUITS” on 2nd June 2018 onwards at 12.00pm and “Lawless Lawyer” on 13th June 2018 onwards at 12.00pm.

SUITS

Based on the US top series of the same name, this Korean remake promises a darker script and a more gripping storyline.

Choi Kang-Seok (Jang Dong-Gun) is the Korean Harvey Specter, a charismatic and successful lawyer at a prestigious law firm. Promoted to a senior partner, he faces the challenge of finding a rookie lawyer for the firm.

Meanwhile, Go Yeun-Woo (Park Hyung-Sik) is the Korean Mike Ross. He grew up to be an aspiring lawyer but due to his poor background, Yeon-Woo had to abandon his dream and work as a parking valet instead.

One day, in order to pay for his grandmother’s urgent hospital bill, he accepted the job of delivering drugs. Set on a trap, in his effort to evade the cops, he ended up in an interview room of Kang-Seok’s firm.

Kang-Seok gambled his position by hiring Yeun-Woo as a rookie lawyer holding no professional license but is blessed with a photographic memory and excellent comprehension skills.

The series assembles a line-up of famous stars such as Jang Dong-Gun (Friend, Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War), Park Hyung-Sik (The Heir, Strong Girl Bong-soon), Chae Jung-an (Queen of Reversals, Entertainer) and Ko Sung-hee (Miss Korea, The Night Watchman’s Journal).

Lawless Lawyer

When his mother was killed mercilessly in the hands of a respected judge of the city, Bong Sang-Pil (Lee Joon-Gi) is driven by the desire to avenge his mother’s gruesome death.

He grew up and decided to be a lawyer and managed to climb the legal ladder by utilizing legal loopholes to win his cases. When legal books failed to serve as manuals, Sang-Pil decided to use his fists instead to uphold justice.

When Sang-Pil opened a law firm in his hometown, Gisung, he is later joined by Ha Jae-Yi (Seo Ye-Ji), a lawyer with a strong sense of integrity. With her law license suspended for beating up a judge due to an unfair case, Jae-Yi thinks Gisung is the best place for her to retreat.

As Sang-Pil holds numerous information regarding unfair trials and cases, the cause of death of Jae-Yi’s mother’s also rests in his hand.

Strong cast ensemble such as Lee Joon-gi (My Girl, Arang and the Magistrate) and Seo Ye-ji (The Night Watchman’s Journal, Last), Lee Hye-Young (Dal-ja’s Spring, Queen of Housewives) and Choi Min-soo (My Wife is a Gangster 3, The Royal Gambler) make the series lineup supported by other established names in the Korean entertainment industry.
