The latest Korean series Light Shop, created by Kangfull, the mind behind Moving, has made history as the biggest Korean original premiere on Disney+ Hotstar globally in 2024, based on views in its first 12 days.
It also ranks as the second biggest Korean original premiere of all time on the platform, following Moving.
Premiering on December 4, 2024, this eight-episode series follows the lives of six strangers, each struggling with traumatic events from their past.
As their seemingly ordinary lives unravel, they realize something is terribly wrong but cannot pinpoint what it is. Their quest for answers leads them to a mysterious light shop hidden at the end of a shadowy alley, which holds the secrets to their past, present, and future. Packed with emotion and intrigue, Light Shop takes viewers on a unique and heart-wrenching journey.
The success of Light Shop comes on the heels of exciting announcements at the 2024 Disney APAC Content Showcase, including the development of Moving Season 2. This achievement further solidifies Disney+ Hotstar as a leading platform for top-tier Korean content, with even more highly anticipated series coming in 2025.
