Ramadan is a time of reflection, kindness, and giving back to the community. This year, Lotus’s Malaysia has once again demonstrated its commitment to spreading joy and smiles through its fourth annual #KitakanJiran Ramadan Cookout.

As part of the ongoing ‘Senyuman Paling Bernilai’ campaign, this initiative provided nutritious iftar meals and essential necessities to thousands of Malaysians in need.

Held at Lotus’s Kajang, the Ramadan Cookout was made possible through a collaboration with Food Aid Foundation, a long-standing charity partner.

The event saw over 60 dedicated volunteers from Lotus’s Malaysia and Food Aid Foundation come together to prepare and distribute hot iftar meals to 600 community members.

The beneficiaries of this initiative included residents from multiple welfare homes such as :

  • Pusat Jagaan Insan Nur Cahaya,
  • Pertubuhan Ikhlas Malaysia,
  • Pusat Jagaan Sinar Cahaya,
  • Pusat Jagaan Mahmudah Malaysia,
  • Persatuan Kebajikan Siti Nor Aini,
  • Pertubuhan Kebajikan & Bimbingan At-Taqwa, and
  • Pusat Jagaan Al-Fikrah.

Additionally, 100 children from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Rumah Pusat Pengasih Warga Prihatin and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Ehsan Ash-Shakur were invited for a special evening featuring interactive sessions with Malaysia’s beloved animated characters Omar & Hana, followed by iftar and Maghrib prayers at Surau Saujana Impian.

A Unified Effort: The Power of Partnerships

Lotus’s Malaysia’s commitment to helping vulnerable communities was further strengthened by the generous support of several brand partners, including:

Their support enabled Lotus’s volunteers, in collaboration with Maggi, to distribute 1,200 bowls of bubur lambuk to shoppers at Lotus’s Kajang.

Beyond the Cookout: Nationwide Donations Making a Difference

KitakanJiran Ramadan initiative extended beyond the cookout

The #KitakanJiran Ramadan initiative extended beyond the cookout with a month-long donation drive, ensuring continuous support for those in need.

With the help of brand partners, Lotus’s Malaysia successfully distributed an estimated RM250,000 worth of essential items, including fresh whole chickens, staple commodities, beverages, confectionery, and sauces.

These contributions reached over 16,000 individuals across 40 mosques in Peninsular Malaysia.
