Mobility Werk Group Sdn Bhd (MW Group) with a business track record of over 50 years in the automotive industry today signed a collaboration agreement with EZ-Charge from the United Kingdom.

The strategic collaboration underscores the increasing push in Malaysia for next-generation mobility solutions and showcases MW Group’s commitment towards boosting Malaysia’s EV ecosystem. MW Group aims to become the pioneer in the manufacturing of EV parts, components and EV chargers.

The Group’s long-term plan includes focusing on localisation of EV manufacturing to help shape a supply chain ecosystem that is competitive on the international stage. It is also gearing up towards IR 4.0 with a set-up of a smart factory encompassing IoT, robotics, data analytics and automation by 2023 to continue to deliver automotive parts and components to its customers.

This will also serve the country’s objective of enhancing Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in building high skilled knowledge-based talents.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Dato’ Sri Dr. Adham bin Baba, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) alongside Zulkifli Bin Kasim, Executive Chairman of Mobility Werk Group.

MW Group will seek more strategic collaborations including partners in Japan to bring about the localisation of EV parts and components.

This forms our strategic plan in playing a pivotal role in transitioning the automotive industry to EV technology. With our years of experience in the automotive industry, we have the resources and local talent to now play a role in complementing the EV ecosystem in Malaysia.

This collaboration with EZ Charge and future strategic collaborations will shape a competitive supply chain ecosystem for Malaysia.

At the event, MW Group also officially launched its rebranding and unveiled its new logo.
