The Established Artists Category Grand Prize was awarded to Chang Yoong Chia for his thought-provoking artwork, Weight of a Feather.
The piece uses contrasting symbols, including an eagle and a bat, to represent different viewpoints, experiences, and forces that shape human life.
Inspired by the concept of balance, the artwork explores resilience as a journey of self-discovery rather than a battle to be won.
By showing how opposing elements can coexist harmoniously, the artist encourages viewers to embrace complexity and recognise that personal growth often comes from understanding multiple perspectives.

The top four winners in each category will earn the opportunity to represent Malaysia at the regional MR D.I.Y. Art Competition in Indonesia later this year. This international platform will allow local artists to share their work with a wider audience while strengthening cultural exchange across the region.
The competition was judged by a distinguished panel comprising respected Malaysian artists Bingley Sim, Liong Mei Yin, Yap Sau Bin, Ivan Gabriel, alongside MR D.I.Y. Group Founder and Advisor Tan Yu Yeh and CEO Adrian Ong.
