OPPO – The global smartphone was tested for their admirable 5G Network download speed by the chairman of Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

OPPO became one of the first smartphones to demonstrate their 5G capability during the launch of 5G Live Cluster Field Trial held by Celcom in Malaysia.

Attended by Al-Ishsal Ishak, the chairman of Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), the OPPO Reno
10x Zoom, the latest model from OPPO’s Reno series, showcased a download speed of 1.2Gbps, showcasing the phone’s excellent 5G performance.





This has proven that OPPO has become the pioneer of the 5G era market and technology in Malaysia.

5G Network Hot Topic in Malaysia Technology Space

The fifth generation of mobile technology or 5G network has been a hot topic in the Malaysian technology space.

Promising more than that just fast downloads, the coming in of the 5G network will unleash further potential in virtual reality, drone technology, telehealth and IoT (internet of things). Celcom, the nation’s leading service provider demonstrated the potential of their 5G network during the launch of Celcom’s 5G Live Cluster Field Trial.

To get a full grasp on the performance spectrum of the 5G network, one of the smartphones selected to participate in the 5G speed test was the OPPO Reno 10x zoom.

One of the first in the country to participate in a 5G speed test, the OPPO Reno 10x zoom recorded a download speed of 1.2Gbps taking the crowd by a storm.

The high download speed will enable users to upload YouTube videos, extract data from google or update their social media feed in a fraction of a minute, promising seamless connectivity and online interaction.

Once introduced, 5G networks will not only increase download speed but will also increase the speed with which devices connect and communicate with wireless networks.

This means that Malaysians will be able to see a whole new spectrum of possibilities in areas such as autonomous or self-driving cars, better public infrastructure with advanced sensor technology that can predict traffic, drain floods etc., improved healthcare and smart devices.

The OPPO 5G Landing Project

The OPPO Reno series is no stranger to catering to burgeoning 5G demands. The OPPO Reno has already been creating waves overseas, being the first smartphone to be launched in conjunction with OPPO’s 5G Landing Project, that aims to revolutionize the smartphone industry by bringing 5G to commercial devices.

In Europe, the OPPO Reno is the first commercial 5G smartphone available in the market with its launch in Switzerland. The OPPO Reno 5G model was introduced to the market through a partnership with Swisscom, Switzerland’s leading IT and telecom company with a similar model also launched in Australia in May 2019.
