ShopBack emerges Champion at the Global Mobile Challenge

ShopBack emerges Champion at the Global Mobile ChallengeShopBack was crowned winner of the Global Mobile Challenge (GMC) at the finals in Barcelona, Spain (announced on 1 March 2017, 11.30PM MYT).

Held alongside the Mobile World Congress (MWC), this is the first time that an Asia start-up has been awarded the top position at GMC.

Launched in July 2016, ShopBack’s mobile app has accumulated over half a million users over the short span of eight months.

The start-up is also one of the first in Southeast Asia to introduce a seamless app-in-app integration with Uber.





Headquartered in Singapore with presence in Malaysia, the Philippines, India, Indonesia and Taiwan, ShopBack is an ecommerce aggregator platform that elevates the online shopping experience with its Cashback programme.

Currently, the start-up has garnered over 2M regional users, with over 560,000 in Malaysia.

Co-organised by IE Business School and the Applied Innovation Institute, in partnership with 4FYN (Four Years From Now) and Mobile World Capital, GMC is the biggest mobile application competition for young entrepreneurs and innovators globally.

This year, over 20 teams from six continents were brought together on the global stage to strive for the title.
