vivo X500 Series Officially Launched with Major Imaging and Video Upgrades – A New Era of Dynamic Mobile Imaging
vivo has officially launched its latest imaging flagship, the vivo X500 Series, in Shanghai on 22 September 2026. Comprising the vivo X500, vivo X500 Pro and vivo X500 Pro Max, the new lineup marks the beginning of vivo’s latest company-wide strategy to push mobile imaging beyond traditional photography and further into the era of dynamic imaging.
The new series is designed around what vivo calls “dual excellence in photo and video experience”, combining advanced camera hardware, powerful imaging processors and professional video features in a smartphone form factor.
With video, live streaming and social content now becoming an important part of how people record and share their daily lives, vivo says the X500 Series has been developed to provide both professional-level capabilities for creators and an easier shooting experience for everyday users.
The vivo X500 Pro Max sits at the top of the lineup, introducing several major imaging technologies, including the new vivo × Sony LYTIA L910 sensor, a 200MP ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera, 4K 240fps Cinematic Slow-Mo Video and 8K Native Live.
vivo × Sony LYTIA L910 Brings 17 EV Dynamic Range
One of the major highlights of the vivo X500 Pro Max is its new vivo × Sony LYTIA L910 sensor.
According to vivo, the sensor can deliver a true 17 EV ultra-high dynamic range, helping the camera retain more detail in challenging lighting conditions. The technology is particularly aimed at situations involving strong backlighting, where smartphones traditionally have to balance bright highlights and darker areas.

The vivo X500 Pro Max features a 200MP ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera, similar to the telephoto system used on the vivo X300 Ultra. The camera supports CIPA 7.0 Professional Stabilisation and a 1536-point multi-zone laser focus system designed to operate across different focal lengths.
For users who enjoy shooting concerts, sports, wildlife or distant subjects, the phone also supports up to 30x Long Range Motion Snapshot and Anyplace Telephoto Tracking.

Another notable addition is 4K Cinematic Portrait Video, combining portrait effects with HDR video production standards.
Six New Cinematic Colour Styles
For users who prefer ready-to-use cinematic looks without spending time on extensive colour grading, the vivo X500 Series introduces six new cinematic video colour styles.
These include Golden, Platinum, Sunny Day, Paris Afterglow, Noir and Amber.
Each style has been developed through vivo’s own colour-processing pipeline, with adjustments made for both people and scenery. This allows users to experiment with different visual moods directly from the phone.

It uses the vivo × Sony LYTIA 828 sensor, also found in the vivo X300 Pro, with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and ZEISS Gimbal-Grade OIS.
For telephoto photography, the X500 uses the vivo × Sony LYTIA 610 sensor, supporting a 64MP telephoto camera, 4K 120fps high-spec slow-motion video and CIPA 5.5 Professional Stabilisation.
The phone also supports 4K 120fps slow motion, 4K 60fps Cinematic Portrait Video across all focal lengths, 4K 120fps 10-bit Log and 4K 120fps HLG video.
The X500 also supports 8K Native Live, bringing one of the headline features of the flagship series to the standard model.

The imaging capabilities are backed by flagship-level hardware.
The vivo X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro, built using a second-generation 2nm N2P process. The platform works alongside vivo’s Imaging Chip V3+ and VS1+ to provide additional processing power for demanding photography and video workloads.
The X500 Pro Max features a 6.85-inch 2K ZEISS Master Color Display and a substantial 7,800mAh BlueVolt Battery.
