Activision is turning up the heat this summer with the launch of Season 04 Reloaded for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone, arriving on June 26.
The mid-season update introduces a huge wave of content across Multiplayer, Zombies, Warzone, and Endgame modes, alongside new weapons, events, store bundles, and a limited-time free trial.
Headlined by the arrival of the all-new Kowakujō Zombies map, the return of the iconic AN-94 Assault Rifle, and a Summer of Action event featuring Hollywood superstar Nick Cage, Season 04 Reloaded is shaping up to be one of the biggest updates of the year.
New Multiplayer Maps Expand the Battlefield
Multiplayer fans will have two new battlegrounds to explore.
The first is Zenith, a brand-new map set within a luxurious cliffside compound. While the location appears elegant on the surface, players will quickly discover that danger lurks around every corner as they navigate hidden pathways, waterfalls, and strategic combat zones.
Returning players will also be pleased to see Launch make its comeback. Originally introduced in the first Black Ops title, Launch remains one of the franchise’s most memorable maps thanks to its unique rocket-launch facility setting and long-range combat opportunities.
These additions further expand the Multiplayer map rotation while offering both fresh experiences and nostalgic gameplay moments.
New Multiplayer Modes Bring More Variety
Season 04 Reloaded introduces several new modes designed to keep matches feeling fresh.
Team Blueprint Sharpshooter
This new mode challenges players to adapt continuously as weapon blueprints rotate throughout the match. Players who achieve elimination streaks will receive bonus rewards, encouraging aggressive and skillful gameplay.
Knife Fight
For players who prefer close-quarters combat, Knife Fight strips away firearms entirely. Success depends on movement, timing, and precision, creating intense one-on-one engagements.
Black Ops Classic Becomes Permanent
One of the most popular throwback experiences in Black Ops 7 is now a permanent playlist. Four additional fan-favorite maps join the rotation:
- Launch
- Fringe
- Hacienda
- Gridlock
This permanent addition allows long-time Call of Duty fans to relive some of the franchise’s most iconic Multiplayer moments whenever they choose.
Kowakujō Brings Players to a Haunted Japanese Castle
The biggest highlight of Season 04 Reloaded is undoubtedly the new Round-Based Zombies map, Kowakujō.
Set within a terrifying feudal Japanese castle trapped inside the Dark Aether, the map presents a haunting environment surrounded by volcanoes, fire, and supernatural horrors.
The storyline continues the crew’s mission to rescue the final Shadowsmith while confronting powerful new enemies.
New Enemies and Wonder Weapon Await
Kowakujō introduces several dangerous threats:
Oni
The fearsome Oni wield electrified kanabō war clubs capable of devastating attacks.
Scorched Zombies and Hellhounds
Players must also survive against fire-infused undead creatures determined to overwhelm the squad.
To fight back, players gain access to a mysterious new Wonder Weapon, along with an additional legacy weapon available through the Mystery Box.
The combination of Japanese mythology, supernatural enemies, and new gameplay mechanics makes Kowakujō one of the most ambitious Zombies experiences released so far in Black Ops 7.
Fresh Zombies Features and Rewards
Season 04 Reloaded adds several gameplay systems to deepen the Zombies experience.
Players can summon a friendly Hellhound using the new Legendary Hellping Hound GobbleGum, providing valuable support during intense rounds.

- New Pack-a-Punch Camos
- Ghostly Rifleman Trap system

Warzone Brings Back Champion’s Quest

Buy Back Quads Returns
Later in the season, the fan-favorite Buy Back Quads mode returns for a special weekend event, giving eliminated players additional opportunities to rejoin the action.
Champion’s Quest Makes a Comeback
One of Warzone’s most prestigious challenges returns in Season 04 Reloaded.
Champion’s Quest is reserved for elite squads capable of completing a demanding multi-stage mission. Successful teams will earn exclusive recognition and secure their place among Warzone’s best players.
Rebirth Island Gets a Summer Makeover
Following months of winter-themed visuals, Rebirth Island is entering a brighter season.
Snow and icy conditions disappear as summer weather returns, creating a more vibrant battlefield while maintaining newer points of interest such as Turbine.
The visual refresh helps keep the map feeling dynamic while preserving gameplay improvements introduced earlier in the year.
Endgame Expands With Operation King Killer
Endgame mode receives a major content expansion through Operation King Killer.
Players must infiltrate the Guild’s defenses, locate the Central Command Node, and complete ten escalating challenges in Zone III and higher.
Completing the operation rewards players with exclusive Weapon Camos, while finishing it using all three available operators unlocks an animated version of the reward.
Season 04 Reloaded also introduces:
- Guardian Skill Track
- New Exotic Skill
- New Nightmare Skill
- Psych Grenade Minor Ability
These additions provide new ways to tackle Endgame’s toughest encounters.
AN-94 Returns Alongside New Weapons
Weapon enthusiasts will be excited to see the return of the legendary AN-94 Assault Rifle.
Known for its signature rapid two-round burst mechanic, the AN-94 remains one of the most iconic rifles in Call of Duty history.
Players can also unlock the new Executioner’s Duet Melee Weapon, allowing them to wield dual axes in combat.
Additional attachments arriving this season include:
- XR-3 Ion Vulcan Minigun
- DS20 Mirage Dual Fire Kit
- Velox 5.7 Carbine Chassis
These additions provide even more customization options across all game modes.
Nick Cage Headlines the Summer of Action
Perhaps the most unexpected addition is the arrival of Nick Cage, who leads the new Summer of Action event.
