MPL Malaysia Season 15: What’s New?
New Venue: Stadium Juara – The Stadium of Champions
This season, MPL Malaysia returns to Stadium Juara, a venue that has witnessed some of the most memorable moments in Malaysia’s esports history.
The league aims to build on the country’s strong performance in 2024, which saw Malaysia secure top honors at the MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) 2024, win the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) event at the World Esports Championship (WEC) 2024, and claim back-to-back MPL Malaysia championships.
However, despite these achievements, Malaysia fell short of winning the M6 World Championship, making this season a chance for redemption.
“Pentas Kebanggaan” – A New Brand Proposition
MPL Malaysia Season 15 introduces “Pentas Kebanggaan”, a brand identity that represents the league as Malaysia’s proud MLBB esports stage.
This initiative aims to unite players, coaches, casters, content creators, and fans under a shared passion for Mobile Legends.
Whether you’re an aspiring pro player or a die-hard supporter, MPL Malaysia serves as a platform to showcase talent and national pride.
New and Revamped Teams
Season 15 will feature some major team updates, including a groundbreaking partnership between defending champions Selangor Red Giants and European esports powerhouse OG Esports.
This collaboration will see the team rebranded as Selangor Red Giants OG Esports (SRG), adding international credibility to the Malaysian esports scene.
Additionally, Red Esports has rebranded as Aero, while two new teams—Ocean Black and DX Soul—have earned their spots in MPL Malaysia after being promoted from the MLBB Academy League Malaysia (MALMY).
MPL Malaysia Season 15 Format and Schedule
Regular Season (19 April – 25 May)
- 10 top Malaysian teams will compete in a single round-robin format.
- All matches will be played in a Best-of-Three (BO3) format.
- The opening match on 19 April will be a highly anticipated rematch of last season’s Grand Finals, featuring SRG vs. Team Vamos.
Playoffs (30-31 May & 14-15 June)
- Top six teams from the Regular Season will qualify for the Playoffs.
- The Playoffs will now be divided into two phases to improve the fan experience:
- Phase One: 30-31 May
- Phase Two: 14-15 June
- This change was implemented based on fan feedback, as the previous format (Thursday to Sunday) made it difficult for many to attend weekday matches due to school and work commitments.
