Samsung Galaxy Z Series Strengthens Its Position as Malaysia’s Choice of Foldable
Samsung is once again making a strong statement in Malaysia’s foldable smartphone market with the arrival of its latest Galaxy Z Series. Launched alongside the new Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9, the new devices are being positioned as products designed around the increasingly mobile, connected and versatile lifestyle of Malaysians.
The launch took place on 14 August 2026 as Samsung kicked off its Haus of Fold Roadshow, celebrating what the company describes as the “Malaysian’s Choice of Foldable.”
Strong Malaysian Interest in the Galaxy Z Fold8
The latest Galaxy Z Fold8 has already attracted significant attention from Malaysian consumers, with Samsung reporting strong pre-order demand for selected colours including Lavender and Graphite.
The high level of interest has also resulted in heavy traffic to Samsung’s website, suggesting that foldable smartphones continue to gain momentum among Malaysian consumers.
According to Samsung Malaysia Electronics President Charles Kim, the strong response from consumers and media demonstrates how Malaysians are increasingly embracing foldable devices as part of their everyday lifestyle.
The new generation of Galaxy Z devices is designed to offer more flexibility, allowing users to move between work, entertainment, communication and content creation without being restricted by a conventional smartphone form factor.
Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra
The Galaxy Z Fold8 series represents Samsung’s continued evolution of its foldable smartphone technology.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 comes with a wider cover screen designed for quick activities such as messaging, browsing and watching short-form videos. When opened, its 4:3 main display provides a more immersive experience for reading, gaming, watching videos and multitasking.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra takes the foldable concept further with an expansive 8-inch main display and a slimmer display structure supported by Samsung’s new Flex Titanium technology.
The upgraded camera system is also designed to deliver improved detail, colour and clarity, making the device particularly interesting for users who want a large-screen productivity device without giving up smartphone portability.
Galaxy Z Flip8 Brings Foldables to a New Generation
For users who prefer a more compact and stylish form factor, the Galaxy Z Flip8 continues Samsung’s clamshell foldable concept.
Samsung describes it as its sleekest Flip yet, with a redesigned FlexWindow that allows users to access apps, information, actions and assistance directly from the cover screen.
This makes the Galaxy Z Flip8 particularly suitable for quick interactions while on the move, whether checking notifications, managing everyday tasks or staying connected.
