ShopBack Malaysia Search for Chief Travel Officer

ShopBack Malaysia Search for Chief Travel OfficerShopBack, Southeast Asia’s top eCommerce loyalty enabler and cashback provider, is teaming up with Tourism Malaysia for its latest campaign to fill its own Chief Travel Officer role.

The lucky individual chosen to be ShopBack’s first Chief Travel Officer will be tasked to uncover the best Malaysian destinations and will be rewarded with RM10,000 travel funds to plan out three perfect weekend holidays by getting the best deals through ShopBack.

With Tourism Malaysia’s support, the Chief Travel Officer initiative aims to inculcate a culture of well-planned travel within the country amongst Malaysians, and to encourage the behaviour of shopping smarter online, as users will be rewarded with cashback whenever they shop via ShopBack.

The individual who eventually helms the coveted position will look for the best travel deals from ShopBack’s list of illustrious travel booking merchants such as Expedia,, Malaysia Airlines, and AirAsiaGo among others; and act as an opinion leader in discovering the best destinations in Malaysia for less.

The search for ShopBack’s Chief Travel Officer provides an excellent platform to entice more young people in Malaysia to travel within Malaysia for vacations and also to promote Malaysia to international and domestic tourists through ShopBack’s international presence,” – Dato’ Ammar Abd. Ghapar, Senior Director of Tourism Malaysia.

The Chief Travel Officer campaign is also a wonderful chance to reinforce and amplify Tourism Malaysia’s Cuti-Cuti 1Malaysia Dekat Je campaign, the government body’s current initiative to promote domestic travel and local tourist attractions among Malaysians.

The campaign to search for ShopBack’s Chief Travel Officer ends 31 st March, and is open to all based in Malaysia who have experience in shopping online and using travel apps.

Once selected, the Chief Travel Officer will produce a series of online videos to document his or her travel experiences around Malaysia whilst utilising RM10,000 funds allocated by ShopBack.

The winner of the search will be announced on 3 rd April via ShopBack Malaysia’s official social media accounts.
